Replying To mooncat:  "Canuck were you listening to WLR this morning?,if you werentyou should listen on playback"
Mooncat it is difficult to know when dealing with a politician and the Waterford county board what are the actual fact. A politician is a politician trying to get as much millage out of an issue as can. The Waterford county board do not have much credibility either. The East/West bias has been a part of the problem with the pitch issues. There was a time if a player lived beyond Kilmeadon there was little chance of getting on the hurling team. The players got over this, playing in schools and colleges together and may I say having a manager like Derek McGrath helped big time.

Canuck the issue here is Waterfords home games, the politician in question is long retired,he is not looking for votes,it was common knowledge that the money was available for a stadium in Carriganore,East and West couldnt agree so thats why Waterford were playing home games away, not the fault of anyone but the Waterford county board,I hope for the sake of Waterfords hurlers they will get a stadium and facilities for training that they deserve.

If Martin Cullen was so adamant that he had the answer why did he not stand at a platform on Keane's Rd. and shout it to the Waterford public I have the answer but your county board will not listen. Once a politician always one. Now that he is retired there is no risk in shouting from the gallery. I could not care what party he is (my own) please do not take too much from his rhetoric.
On the other hand anyone that denies the East/West divide is not been honest either. We want to be like ye but need to pay real attention to what breads success. Would the likes of Tadgh DeBurca, Jammie Barron, Colin Dunford, Conor Gleeson etc. get a look in some years ago ? It is going in the right direction but no thanks to officials. That is why the next manger is important. Forward or backwards.

Not surprising that Martin Cullen's assessment is factually incorrect. !!! A politician !!! Not surprising either that the county board would deny the biases. The losers Waterford teams, players of the present, players of the future and supporters.
