Replying To katser:  "There is no one talking about All Irelands but ye seem to be talking about last year and years before that which has nothing to do with Sundays match. I'd say ye don't know what to expect from Roscommon on Sunday or what sort of a team will turn up on the day. Are they going to be inconsistent are they going to bottle it or are they going to win but at least ye know what to expect from Galway...which is that they will be coming to the Hyde with one thing on their mind and that is to blow Roscommon completely out of the water"
We know what to expect from Galway team wiped in championship by Ros Kerry and tipp last 2 years
A consistent league wow did Monaghan have a good league they beat the dubs not defended against 14 to keep score down.

Expect a good game and I think it is very much a 50/50 game- maybe Roscommon slightly favourites, but could go either way.

The things i have no time for on here is newbies who pretend to be new, trolls and wums and last but not least people like you not from Roscommon trying to fool people that you are from Roscommon."

Galway for such a massively resourced county should be serious contenders for Sam every year. They have a swagger this year and former players like Padraig Joyce are talking about all Irelands.
If they bring they're A game tomorrow based on recent record against Mayo/Dublin we will have to produce our best performance as a team yet. It's hard to see based on performances this year but I hope to god I'm wrong.

Head says Galway heart says Ros.

Interestingly last time Galway won Sam we beat them and also had them beat in 98 until that phantom free in Tuam.

Salvador not from Roscommon at all not a surprise to read that given his posts over the years and to think he had the cheek to question my American citizenship? Is he going to stick he real colors to the mask now? as he is either a Galway or Mayo man.

Anyway moving on from salvadors little charade on here i as neutral will be hoping to see a top competitive Connacht final the type of final that showcases the talent in both sides as at the end of the day this has the potential and ingredients to be the best of 4 provincial finals this summer.

They had an excellent league campaign but is that purely what they're being judged on? Did they not struggle to beat a below par and below full strength mayo team with 14 men?
I think in the GAA we tend to loose the run of ourselves! Early last season you had people saying Tipp were unbeatable in the hurling and they've hardly won a cship game since. Similarly with Galway hurlers this year (and I'm guilty on that too)
Dublin have won 3 of their all Ireland's by a point and they're untouchable..
It remains to be seen but I think this galway team are slightly over hyped. Huge improvements no doubt but a long way to go to be nailed on for Connacht titles or all Ireland contenders"
Good post.

Salvador the massively resource thing is a myth given half the county don't play football and cities by their nature are very hit and miss when it comes to GAA.

Yes and lakes and hills don't play Gaelic games as County Fermanagh can testify. They're still in an Ulster Final and Roscommon are in a Connacht Final.Tiny Iceland with it's population of little more than 300,000 held Argentina and Messi in the World Cup .Population matters of course and the successful counties of late in Gaelic football have been the big counties.Still smaller counties can punch above their weight

But it is how that population is managed and the extent of other influences particularly when the 2 primary GAA codes are split pretty equally with very little dual crossover like in Dublin Cork and even Wexford. The Galway football territory in terms of population proportion is actually not huge in terms of the overall population for the city/county. I agree though without the Fermanagh type stories we would have a lesser brand. In fairness I always saw the Rossies as being pretty competitive and our equal. I mean ye have 20 odd provincial titles and beat us and Mayo as often as we both beat ye when I was growing up in the seventies and eighties. Dipped obviously in the last twenty yrs but Connacht big 2 notion was stretching it IMO. It's not Munster.

Not sure if it's such a myth if ye built a new pitch down in salthill. That was hardly done for the lols now was it.

Ros will year down the Galway blanket wall with a few skyscraper scores of their own and will have enough about them to get a 2 point win. Worried about our own full back line but I'd reckon it will be a tense defensive affair today

Key to winning this game is to give a few "Hello" digs to the likes of Shane Walsh as no doubt he could shirk away from the challenge of competitive action then.

Windy misty day here in the Hyde so far with strong wind blowing into graveyard end. Best of luck to both teams. Hopefully the conditions dont ruin what could be an excellent game

Roscommon @ 3/1 is just too good to turn down and they are at home, in fact I'm taking them @ -2 today.
If galway lose they usually do it in style ( Tipp,Ros, Kerry ect)

Galway made Roscommon look good for most of that game. They should have won by more.
That been said the star of the show was David coldrick, yet again proved why he is the top ref in country. Others could learn a lot from him he showed no bias, or incompetence.
