Sorry about 1 stat. I got wrong in the above message. I should have said Offaly have won 1 leinster title in 35 years ( in 1997). Furlong1949 (Meath) - Posts: 1067 - 27/06/2018 11:29:40 2115833 Link 1 |

Congrats to Wicklow who beat the Dubs in Parnell Park this evening in the minor championship, this round robin format is massively compeitive. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 27/06/2018 21:33:58 2116156 Link 2 |

Hopefully this will give Kildare the belief to kick on now. Ye have some lovely players there. Best of luck for the rest of the championship.

A win for Kildare doesn't change how I'm competitive Leinster is, what it does say along with Wicklow minors win is tell us that the standard is improving, and if results in other provinces have told us anything the competitive nature of those provinces particularly Munster is nothing to right home about , last word to Kildare I wouldn't say Leinster folk are known for getting behind each other , tonight I was in your corner congrats delighted Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 30/06/2018 21:43:20 2116952 Link 4 |
One thing is for sure - the Leinster Championship is more competitive than the Munster Football Championship, and that is for sure Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 08/07/2018 09:09:46 2119506 Link 3 |
What competition do Dublin have in the Leinster Championship?

I know, lots of Kerry folk seem so concerned about the state of Leinster they seem to be forgetting that their province is in a far worst state and not just senior level but Underage level too. The same grown men that will tell you black is white will obviously disagree and get their panties in a twist as usual.

Delighted for Kildare to be honest and its great for Leinster football. As have the really competitive underage grades this year, Dublin have had a really poor year. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 08/07/2018 10:53:27 2119534 Link 5 |
How have the Dublin Minors and Under 20's done this year in Leinster. Dublin conveyor belt is drying up - Kerry on the other hand.... Kildare can be a real force in Leinster, and Meath gave Tyrone a right rattle this year - and look what Tyrone did to Cork... Munster is in a far worse state but once Dublin are concerned, they will catch the headlines... If i was in the GAA hierarchy I would be far more concerned with Munster. Have you seen the scores the underage Kerry teams are racking up this year and their Seniors are becoming a top top team also. I will put money that Dublin will lose a Leinster Senior game before Kerry lose a Munster game. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 08/07/2018 11:50:29 2119555 Link 0 |
signs of hope in the underage levels...dublin dumped out and hopefully the likes of meath and kildare can push on now at senior level mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 08/07/2018 11:57:31 2119559 Link 0 |
More waffle in reply to a simple question.

I just think the talent that Kerry are bringing through is of a very high level rhudson (Galway) - Posts: 1478 - 08/07/2018 12:34:04 2119571 Link 1 |
Why was it waffle? What parts weren't true as you see it?

I asked what competition do the Dublin Senior team have in the Leinster Championship. The reply was waffling on about the Munster Championship and underage teams in Leinster.

You can expand that question to the whole country if you want to go down that road. Dublin are Dublin, the rest are playing catch up. Doesn't matter where you are from.

I know sure. But I only asked about Dublin's Leinster competitors. There's no point in thinking they're unbeatable. They've set a high bar, up to the rest to try and reach that level even it's a massive challenge. Like Offaly in the early 80s. They said that great Kerry team wouldn't be beaten but McGee's men proved them wrong.
