Replying To The_analyser:  "Totally unexpected win for us but we fully deserved it. I see a few Mayo supporters elsewhere are talking themselves up as All Ireland contenders based on a trimming v Leitrim and how some players are doing at club level? well thats alright as the underdog tag will suit us fine."
Can you send an example of that please? And don't come back with Facebook or twitter chat as idiots reside there

As I am sure most will have heard Armagh beat Tyrone in Ulster. A pity about the melee in extra time because aside from that it was as good a game as I have seen in a long time. Nearly 50 scores and end to end football. Armagh have a number of fine footballers on the team. Suspensions may stop them going further though.

Knock out. Connacht winner into the semi final while the loser of the final is out.

Murphy was out with a hamstring injury. Goldrick was brought on before half time. We were 9/2 odds to win before the game so yes a big shock but we were good value for the 3 point winning margin as when we led by 6 points midway through the 2nd half we had more or less had that game won.

I presume on the Mayogaablog one or two posters have lost the run of themselves but i would have Mayo as favourites for connaght final. We have already exceeded expectation by beating Galway

Roscommon will be tough beat in the Hyde with a big home support.

Pleasantly surprised at our U20's making the Ulster final. They have good players no doubt but just the fact that most of the team and almost all their main players/spine are still U20 next year.

Yeah serious talent there coming through. The competition has really opened up with the elimination of fancied Galway and Donegal sides. I was not surprised Derry beat Donegal at all. I did think Donegal would win but knew the odds of 1/3 for Donegal to win that match was ludicrous. By all accounts Derry deserved their win and that is twice now in 2 games they have shown great character and resolve to come through. Against Donegal they came back from conceding 2 goals to win through and were 7 points down at HT at the weekend. Best of luck to ye in the final and possibly beyond that. I am sure there are going to be a few tight tussles between Derry and Donegal over the next 3/4 years.

That Galway team picked amazed me on what I've seen the previous 2 years at minor level.

The sending off made a huge difference as Galway were 0-4 to 0-1 up at the time but even then its no excuse and Galway had enough time to get organised and win the game, I can't help feeling its a huge opportunity missed for a team that should have won Connacht and were red hot favourites to do so.

it was 0-2 0-1 at the time of sending off. In a low scoring tight game that goal made a huge difference in the 8th of the 2nd half. From 0-6 to 0-5 to Galway to then finding themselves 1-10 to 0-7 behind and no way back after that.

Well you were my favourites for beyond that but Evan Murphy being injured was a huge loss to ye too. Then going down a man things were always going to be touch and go. I seen Galway play Roscommon at minor 2 years ago and it was an obliteration but I did question the form of the province at the time after seeing Mayo play a couple of times subsequently. But I know how u feel as like that Donegal went into hot fav's for Ulster after destroying Cavan only to go out the next weekend. They should have had a handy free to force undeserved extra time but it was not given. The way the game had turned I think Donegal would have ran out winners in extra time especially having an extra man but those are the small margins. It just proves how unpredictable underage football can be sometimes. From what I had read most Roscommon supporters did not have much hope against ye either.

The Leinster council are a joke. Meath top their group with 3 wins, as do Dublin and they get rewarded by playing each other in a semi-final. So Kildare lose to Meath and their route is Carlow and Offaly. Meath win and they have to beat Dublin. Makes 0 sense. Both teams getting shafted their and Kildare+Offaly getting lucky

That is tough but at the end of the day u have to beat the best to be the best. At least teams in Leinster get a 2nd bite of the cherry unlike the other provinces. Probably 2 of the best teams in the country are out in Galway and Donegal. In Galway's case injury and an early red card ended their season and with Donegal having to play 2 games in quick succession and been on the end of some dubious refereeing decisions the end of theirs.

On that big congrats to Derry on winning Ulster today. I did not get to see any of the game but was pretty confident they would do the business today. It was always going to be the case that the winners of the coin flip game between Donegal and Derry would be hard stop thereafter in Ulster. Best of luck to them in the semi final against Mayo.

It would be a joke but It's simply not true. Kildare are playing Dublin in the semi.

If there was no second chance then Meath and Dublin would have ended up in the final anyway haha. By chance I was in Clones today with my friend who is a Fermanagh man. Derry are a very very big team. Brown and the McWilliams twins carrying on their form from minor last year, It was a good game of football too, much more open and better to watch than the senior

The senior final was never going to be too open but in fairness I thought Donegal played good football.
