Offaly Interim Management- Good Or Bad?

(Oldest Posts First)

Dont know a whole lot about Paul Rouse other than he was a fine club footballer...fair dues to him for taking the Offaly job for now in the circumstances...I am sure at this juncture no one from outside the county would come next or near Offaly at this time..its hard to know, the County board now have a "budget" replacement for the rest of the season, that is no disrespect to Paul Rouse, hopefully he will get this group of players going, I think, as has been suspected down the years the County board is part of the problem in Offaly...Stephen Wallace didnt help himself getting into bother in Kerry and then getting suspended, but I reckon the higher echelons of Offaly GAA were only waiting for the chance to get rid of him..John Moloney left the panel and yes is a huge loss, but it happens no matter how good a player is they may be hard to manage (dont know what happened with Moloney but he left the panel) and if a player is causing grief, no matter who or how good he is, he should walk, Offaly tend to put up with all this all lark over the years and players who are committed 100% to the cause then are 22 & 23 on the panel week after week despite obeying all the rules, and ultimately drop off the panel wondering why they bother if others dont, again Ime not saying this happened in Moloneys case but something had to happen for him to leave, if he didnt like what the manager was doing, tough, the Manager is the manager and it should be either his way or the highway, but apparently not in Offaly..lets see how Paul Rouse gets on, I hope he is not afraid of falling under busses etc...
