It's a tough situation for the North as the County Boards seem to focus on the Football. The GAA need to award Counties for winning lower tier competitions.

You could have:

Winner of Joe McDonagh - €250,000
Winner of Christy Ring - €175,000
Winner of Nicky Rackard - €125,000
Winner of Lory Meagher - €75,000

The money could then be used for development and to either send the winners on a holiday or give them a few quid instead. There's an incentive then to win the competition and to play for your County.

Yeah, they need more games than that. I wouldn't necessarily restrict the underage teams to the same tier as their seniors. I'd have promotion and relegation. So say Down win an All-Ireland minor B, that team should play u20/22A 2 or 3 years later.

It's Leinster Hurling final day and it's Galway for me to win back to back Leinster Hurling titles

Maybe/probably Galway, all the tipsters in the media have gone for them. But, Cody's had time to think about this game for a few weeks, and he has made big changes. Kilkenny for me.

Poor enough game I think. Physical and good fielding but some poor misses and errors in general.

Not a classic final by any means but good hurling. Where will the replay be now that Croker is out of commission for the next two weekends? Portlaoise?

A Stinker in Leinster. No team deserved to win that sloppy encounter. None of those two look like All Ireland winners. I'm hoping for a much improved performance but I think the extra game will end both teams seasons with no trip to an All Ireland final.

Referee made sure it finished a draw by holding up the play for a throw in and letting the last 30 seconds fizzle out.

What an absolutely brilliant game. Just because it wasnt 3-32 to 4-27 or something doesn't mean it wasn't a great game. Some of the catching and defending was a joy to watch.

Should be extra time in those games though

It wasn't a good game. Look at the misses. I agree you don't need a high scoring game for it to be good but the basics were poor today I felt. Guys unable to rise the ball.,shocking decision making by both teams. There were periods of quality but not enough.
