The greatest Donegal side of all time. Beat everyone.."
Donegal's win in 2012 was the most convincing All-Ireland win of this decade by some distance.

A rural county like themselves simply can't ask for the same level of commitment from their players year after year unfortunately.

Can't argue with that.

Donegal were the best team in the country in 2012 and played some great football.

All Dublin's wins have been less convincing but all arguably much more competitive games and IMO Mayo have only got better since 2012. Look what Mayo did to Donegal a couple of years later..

In this decade you have the best Donegal, Mayo and Dublin sides of all time. All 3 teams have competed against and beaten the other in some titanic battles.

Similar to the 90's Dubs team. They both lacked a bit of belief but managed to squeeze out a win against a lesser side

They were unlucky with the back door nonsense though..."
Why what was the backdoor nonsense that happened jim?

Galway 98 and 01 for me, that was some team, Padraig Joyce and Michael Donnelan were a joy to watch, they were strong all over the field and played lovely attacking football.

Armagh 2002 would be a close second.

Ya those Armagh and Galway teams were excellent Gerry I remember the battles we had with them in 2000 were serious, great times for football.

They also had a rock solid defence . Tomas Mannion, Sean Og de Paor, the two Fahys, a very young Kieran Fitzgerald and Declan Meehan . They were a very good defensive unit that also posed a very serious attacking threat . Alan Keane was also a fine keeper .

Hurling - It has to be Offaly in the early 90's. Brian Whelehan was the best hurler I ever saw. Pure class. Effortless. They had others like Jim Troy, while maybe not all time greats had a skill level that was a pure joy to watch.

Football - I'm not old enough to go below the 80's! Kerry mid 80's were great to watch. Dublin first year after Pat Gilroy were very exciting. they brought in all the young lads. Since they lost to Donegal they have become a fair bit more conservative but for a year or 2 before that they were a great to watch as well. Only negative, and it is not their fault, is that they were so far a head of teams a lot of their games were boring until the latter stages of the championship. Any team that Gooch won with. You could watch him float around the pitch all day.

Galway team of the early noughties were good to watch, Joyce, Donnelllen and the likes of Sean Og and Declan Meehan were a joy to watch.

Also the Donegal team under McGuinness were not great to watch but they played a style which worked with the group they had at the time. Unlucky not to win at least one more All Ireland.

I always liked the players and Donegal people so they always were my favourite team to shout for when Kerry were not involved.
