For once Ulsterman has laid out some sensible suggested problems we have in Antrim, the least you could do is respond to OR are you going to bottle it???? I love Antrim Hurling but we have major problems with the way we play in fits and starts. Players and especially the forwards are not tacklers or ball winners. we have backs that don't field ball well or don't run for each other, there are too many guys stationary around the field and that could be management but it is happening from U14 Dev Squads up. The clubs and Dev Squad coaches need to work on fluent hurling, Dunloy underage do it as did their seniors in the county final last year. When they are playing well it works but it doesn't happen in too many other clubs. Brian_Coyote (Antrim) - Posts: 346 - 11/06/2018 15:56:01 2110027 Link 0 |
Ulsterman has a point, there's something wrong with the mentality of our team in the crucial late stages of matches. How many big games is that we've lost in the last few years by just 1 or 2 points? We led in every McDonagh cup game, we were the joint top scorers, we beat the team that topped the table yet we end up in the relegation play-off. Nope, I am not going to get involved in dialog with an alleged GAA fan who has a long track record of only disrespecting and criticising players who give their all for our benefit. I know these lads and the sacrifices they make, and to balme them for lack of success is just plain wrong. If you read my original post. I feel it was balanced and covered some areas that need addressing. Glensboy (Antrim) - Posts: 286 - 12/06/2018 09:45:44 2110398 Link 0 |
Offaly were best team v Antrim footballers. Nothing against Antrim, but that is a fact. It would be great for football if Antrim were contenders in Ulster.

I think Offaly will get it tough in the Joe McDonagh Cup next year. Sometimes by dropping down a division, standards can only drop by players within the camp (sure it's only the Joe McDonagh Cup). Past hurler (None) - Posts: 707 - 13/06/2018 14:33:54 2111072 Link 0 |
Huge game for Carlow and Westmeath tomorrow both counties are trying so hard to get to top level but not a word about that from the Michael Duignans of this world but they have their agenda jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1416 - 01/07/2018 00:14:10 2117030 Link 0 |
