Cuala Vs Na Piarsaigh

(Oldest Posts First)

It's the big one!, the winner of the last two Club Hurling championships go head to head for top honours, can Cuala and King Con make if 2 in a row or will the largely talented Na Pairsaigh be crowned champions.
Myself I can't call it but can't wait to see a fantastic game of hurling. How do others see if going? Let's hear your thoughts

Cuala will run a heavy looking Na Pairsigh ragged in Croke Park. Dowling aside who's been injured for a while, but the rest looked beefy and not in a good way the last day out.

I presume the two red cards won't be rescinded which will also hamper the Limerick men.

The big one is right - the previous two winners. It has all the makings of a classic final. Extremely hard to call but I have backed Na Piarsaigh from the outset and I'll stick with them to regain their title.

I think people are reading way too much in to the first half in the Na Piarsaigh match the last day. There was a storm blowing right down the middle of the field and to only go in 3 points down or whatever it was was some going.

They showed that themselves when playing with it in the second half and that with only 13 men for pretty much all of it. 2-9 to 1-2, the Slaughtneil goal coming when the match was nearly in injury time, in that period is very dominant and with 15 men it would have been a lot more.

Sat week is impossible to call. You have a team like Cuala who are a great team in the combined sense against Na Piarsaigh who undoubtably have match winners all over their forwards. I think it may
come down to the simple fact that any Na Piarsaigh forward, who are all on a county senior team either this year or in the last 2 years, on a given day could finish with 2-3 to their name. Do Cuala have that same threat?

It has the potential to be an absolute cracker.

I doubt there'll be much in it come 60 minutes.

Absolutely agree Mes

I can't see much in it when the final whistle goes

If Cuala continue to defend so well and have a good game in that area I think they'll edge it. Going to be a great day out

Gotta say this has the makings of a cracker, and hopefully it will be. I genuinely believe the Na Piarsaigh backs are the one set of backs Cuala will come up against that may be able to curb Con o Callaghans influence on the game and I think that could be a huge factor.

This game is impossible to call. Two excellent sides that play great hurling and a joy to watch in full flow.
All eyes will be focused on how Mike Casey will handle Con O'Callaghan.
BTW, did Na Piarsaigh appeal either of those red cards from the semi-final.?
Really feel that wing back Grimes was hard done by, and deserves to line out in the final.

My question is answered...!! Both Na Piarsaigh players lose their appeals and will not play in the club final.
Both a huge loss and makes it a big mountain for N.P. to climb now. Very difficult to replace 2 Limerick U21 stars.

Ah any GAA team that plays in red and white I find it very hard to shout against plus Dalkey is a lovely area so I will be shouting for Cuala.

Boylan wouldn't have started now that Dowling is fully back but he'd have been a huge of option off the bench.

In saying that Dowling adds a much bigger scroring threat so from the team to start it's not a loss in any way.

Cuala have not met too many top munster teams yet. Ballyea fell apart in the final last year. If na piarsaigh show up they will win I think.

Prior to the semifinals I would have fancied Na PIarsaigh. I thought they were were sluggish v Slaughneal but a semifinal is about getting to the final and it is difficult on any club to cope without two first team player. However I have that Na PIarsaigh win it as all their players are available to their county not like opponents, some of whom will not hurl with their county.

Con O Callaghan will run amuck in Croke Park. He looks even better than last year. Couldn't see any of the NAPs holding him.
Too powerful, too fast, too skillful.

If he does cuala will win but I don't think he will. na piarsAigh for me though the loss of the two players might be felt but feel if they get going earlier than they have for last few games they'll just have too much fire power for cuala
