i'v never understood the hype around Peter Canavan. He was good but i never thought he was anything else why (Kildare) - Posts: 142 - 24/02/2018 11:00:45 2079640 Link 0 |
How is that an unpopular opinion. It couldn't be much more popular. An unpopular opinion of mine would be that the money to double is grossly misrepresented by the media, particularly social media/joe.ie style outlets. When you look into the details of the money that's gone to Dublin it is not actually disproportionate. The money has been used to get as many kids playing games as possible. I can't think of a better use of money than that. Really getting as many playing our games should be the number 1 priority of the GAA. The only reason it becomes and issue is because you've got a top level based on the county game which contains gross disparities in population between the teams. 1.Most GAA jerseys are awful. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 24/02/2018 11:22:27 2079648 Link 0 |
They've gotten better in recent years. Were particularly bad from 2000-2013 or so.

Dublin are not such great a team that everyone thinks. Apart from Mayo they have had no decent team to beat in the last number of years. KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 24/02/2018 11:58:05 2079655 Link 0 |
1) Scrap the current All Ireland Championship and replace it with a three tier championship like it is at club level with Senior (12 teams), Inter (10 teams) and Junior (10 teams). OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 24/02/2018 12:15:05 2079661 Link 1 |
To be fair, the Antrim one isn't the worst.

Maybe its the players fault not the gambling companies? WunderBar (Galway) - Posts: 290 - 24/02/2018 12:47:58 2079667 Link 0 |
By being heavily involved in the gaa and speaking irish on a daily basis i consider myself more irish than those who dont participate in gaa. In fact i question the patriotism of many rugby folk 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 364 - 24/02/2018 13:14:04 2079674 Link 2 |
It will never mean as much to me because of the local nature / tribalism of the GAA but Soccer played at it's best is a more skilful sport & better to watch than Gaelic football. KildareKelly (Kildare) - Posts: 593 - 24/02/2018 13:30:10 2079675 Link 0 |

Unpopular in Meath Ollie, but popular in the rest of the country. You did win a Leinster championship in 2010 even though the official record doesn't acknowledge it.

I don't like the way the Gaa plays Amhran na bhfiann before every inter-county game, completely dilutes it, they should save the anthem for finals. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 24/02/2018 16:14:19 2079701 Link 0 |
Do carry round a shillelagh, watch Ros na Run, drink Guinness by the barrel full and love a feed of cabbage and bacon aswell?

I think the All-Ireland championship should be 100% knock out, 100% open draw. icehonesty (Wexford) - Posts: 2550 - 24/02/2018 16:21:26 2079703 Link 0 |
