Moorefield V Corofin

Replying To Ailteoir:  "I doubt there'll be any retrospective sanction. Players play acting aren't making it easy for the ref though. It could be a major turning point alright if Corofin lose. That said, so could Lundy's failure to pass to a team mate when a goal was there for the taking just before half time."
Has there ever been a sanction before in such circumstances? I cant remember if there has.

Looks like Corofin the much better team, Moorefield need a goal as they cant seem to kick points,

Im not complaining though as I backed under 22.54 points after ten minutes as it seemed like a low scoring game, hopefully no goal fest in the last 10 minutes -;)

I don't think you've much to worry about in terms of a goal fest ;)

Justice served well done corofin. Always support the Galway team naturally but I've never jumped out of my seat to celebrate them getting a goal until today. Delighted for the 2 lads who chose their club over the sigerson final today, their club certainly needed them

Poor game , basic skills poor, right team won , lost count of the amount of times Moorefield won a high kick out only to turn back towards their own goal and kick the ball 30 yards backwards, complete lack of ambition , well executed goal the one piece of real quality in the game

Congrats Corofin, experience showed when questions were asked.

I don't think I have ever seen a worse performance in an All Ireland semi final than Moorefield. Petrified, full of nerves, frozen or just plain poor? Take your pick.

Great performance from Corofin with 14 men for the whole game. Was hoping for the Kildare team to win naturally but lost interest after what happened for the sending off. No time for that crap from any team. Hope the red card gets overturned and that fella can play in the final. Again, well done Corofin.

Good summing up there, the goal was the only bit of decent football in it.

A win is a win I suppose, but the lads will have to do better on the 17th.

As for the antics in the 2nd minute, that young lad let himself, his team mates and his club down badly with that nonsense.

No bad sign of a team to not sparkle and still get the result (especially at this level)!

Replying To Damothedub:  "Just turned on the game on TG4 to see disgraceful antics of Corofin number nine trying to get opponent sent off , amateur dramatics are missing a diva , 26 minuets gone 2 points to 1 says it all really very poor game so far"
Ref was conned in the first minute and issued a red card so, I suppose, it was inevitable that some Corofin player would try the same trick to even-up the numbers.
That was a very heavy pitch to have to play with only 14 players for 65 or more minutes. Moorfield were much too slow in their build-up play to stretch the Corofin back-line where Fitzgerald belied his years to control everything. Sice also put in a great shift up front but Lundy had a real off day.
I felt sorry for the Moorfield No. 14 who seemed to cover every inch of the pitch trying to pull his team through. Well done to Corofin

Twasnt even a yellow.

Well done to Corofin. The sending off of the Corofin full forward in the first minute was a joke. Minimal contact, not even a yellow card. Roli Sweeney once again worked hard for Moorefield, ploughing a lonely furrow at times, as the rest of their forwards were generally below par. Today will probably have been his last game in a long career. Despite the sunshine the pitch was extremely heavy which didn't help the game which was generally poor apart from the passage of play that led to Corofin's goal, and some good individual performances on both teams.

A very disappointing game of football. The theatrics of the Moorefield player for the sending off were indeed shameful but considering the display of one of their teammates in Croke Park the last time they won an All-Ireland Corofin could have no complaints about that type of nonsense.

Shocking sending off Moorefield full back was a disgrace going down holding his face to get the lad the line...hope he appeals and is avail for the final.

Thankfully Corofin won that game, would have been a travesty with the red card and the fact that Corofin played whatever football was played in a very poor game.
That red card for Farragher must be rescinded and ref and Moorefield should apologise to him. Farragher has trained through the drudgery of winter , sacrificed his Christmas for this 60 minutes of football and to be denied his opportunity to play, bar one minute, because of this is shameful.
Well done Corofin, highlight of game was build up and execution of the goal.
