Calling it off at 11 is an absdolute joke and disgraceful treatment for traveling supporters.

There was one shower in carrick between 9 and 11 lasted two minutes so why not call it off at nine disgraceful and sorry carrick is beside inniskeen

Disgraceful treatment of Kerry, an inspection at 9am somehow passed yet they decided to do another at 11 when it was well known conditions would deteriorate. Cavan, which isn't a million miles away from Inniskeen, was unplayable last night and all Meath people knew it would never pass an inspection today given the forecast. How this was left until 11am is a farce, was Clones not an option either?

The worst of it is, the pitch would be playable come 2pm. Surely Monaghan could have tried to push the game back further until 3 or 4 and play it under the lights. A few brushes could have cleared it.

Was the gaa afraid to call off the ladies game before hand and go and go ahead with the men's game?

Totally agree. But this kind of thing happens time after time. Only a few weeks ago an FBD game involving Galway was called off an hour before throw in. Can someone somewhere bring a motion to Congress that if there are any doubts about the playability of a pitch that the pitch is inspected the day before and if its not playable then it is not playable the next day either. Or if its a case that overnight rain is the issue, that the pitch is inspected no later than 9am and called off at that point if there is still any doubt about it. It's completely ridiculous that Breffni Park was deemed unplayable yesterday and for some bewildering reason a further inspection fixed for this morning. Perhaps overnight they were praying for a miracle like in Knock.

You probably all seen the pictures already on Twitter or Facebook of the pitch so right decision taken to call off game, snowing heavily here again at the min so I don't think it was viable to switch to another venue in Monaghan as I would think there covered in snow too.

Similar scenario happened recently and nothing changes of course, surprise surprise. Year in , year out, same old story.
This is the sort of carry on that reeks of amateurisn and gombeenism within the organisation.
Nobody prepared to make a call on what should be a relatively straightforward decision.

Bad form leaving it that late to make a final call on it. Maybe it's different if it was against Tyrone or someone more local, but they should have thought about the travelling Kerry support.

And for anyone saying the game should have been fixed for Clones, the surface in Inniskeen is much better so that would probably have been the best bet today regardless.

Hard on Kerry supporters who had travelled or intended travelling to Monaghan for today's game.
The real problem is the miserable bloody weather which seems to be unending rain, sleet and snow.
There seems to be no end to this crap weather even in the middle of February.
Global warming my posterior, why not say Global freezing!

It is hard on supporters and players to have games called off at relatively short notice on tnemorningof the game. A few games have been called off today.

True - i'h heading out soon with the young lad for a hurling match. Its switching between hailstones and sleet outside - tough conditions for a 12yr old

Monaghan GAA would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to any travelling Kerry GAA ( Kerry Gaa Supporters Club ) fans today One thing we can't control is the weather. Please see collage below of what the 3 county grounds were like at 9am this morning. https://www.facebook.com/monaghangaa/posts/1791988777526539

At that stage only Inniskeen Grattans GAA was playable - Shortly after that there was further snow in Inniskeen - See Photo at 11am when the decision to postpone was taken Final Photo from Inniskeen was at 1.30pm which shows things had deteriorated . There will be further information on refixture -
reuse/refunds of tickets tomorrow

After UCD winning their sigurson semifinal tonight we'll be minus our two starting midfielders for Sunday, but hopefully we might have maher and Moran back to fill the gap.
