True enough.

Straight swap then?

MDMA and EOG for Mullins and McBrearty senior. We'll keep O'Gara Junior and yous can keep McBrearty Junior.

Replying To rorysboys:  "Don't like blaming refs but was very dissapointed with the double hop at the end. At the end of the day the ref was the nearest to the Kerry player and the linesmen were the next. You would think one of the three officials would have seen it. If this happened in the last minute of an allerand final with both sides level there would be some uproar."
What was your view on the Donegal back squirting the contents of his water bottle at Paul Geaney just before he took the penalty?

Replying To TheHermit:  "Lads he might have missed the double-hop, but he should have also called back the Donegal kick from the mark that lead to that last goal because the Donegal lad took a rake of steps before kicking it instead of playing it from where he caught the ball.
So you know swings and round abouts"
Absolutely spot on Hermit.

I have no time for this nit picking about things that were missed & what about this & what about that.

As you said swings & roundabouts.

It gave him the energy and motivation he needed to score a point.

ps it was no penalty. Forward collapsed on the ground with men around him. He knew he had no chance other than to try the ref for a peno.

Sneaking in extra steps here and there occurs constantly in all games, the double hop doesn't. Pretty poor for no officials to pick up on it.

Much more than a few steps if you want to check back on the tv coverage, but as I said there's innumerable instances of decisions like this in every game.

The ref did not cost Donegal the game, I think a relatively poor first half performance did that with only McBreaty keeping them in the contest up to that point.

Correct analysis, Donegal played better against the wind with 14 men and Mullins was foolish to kick out.
The referee probably did cost them a deserved point awarding a dubious penalty and allowing a blatant double bounce ( two points scored). With respect to the 3rd Donegal goal their midfielder Hugh McFadden was still being dragged, pulled and obstructed after the free was awarded .. when the offending players weren't retreating the referee allowed him (almost encouraged him) to advance from the ruck and get his kick away... its something you see happening usually when a player is fouled in his own half and seldom results in a score.

Good man 'Tomsmith here' .. a proper curved ball but well answered by Donegal lads on here.
Work and life has a habit of moving people around .. great Rossies like Early to Kildare , Newton and O'Connor to Inishowen in Donegal.

Even in your own county:
Last Ulster winning team was coached by a DONEGAL man,
Current team is coached by a TYRONE man,
The great John Wilson lived, taught and played for a while in LETTERKENNY,
Centre half forward on your famous Polo Grounds team was a DONEGAL man which reminds me that the legendary Mick Higgins was born in NEW YORK. Not forgetting of course that the great Seanie lived and played for a while in KILDARE.

Well done on your draw on Sunday, it would be great to see the Breffni Blues being competitive again in the top flight. A lot of tradition and passion for football in Cavan. Was wondering if your connected to Tom Smith a GAA broadcaster on New York radio and International soccer games involving Ireland on ESPN USA?

Tomsmith Co Cavan

Lockjaw here from Donegal.

I note that the Cavan senior county football team have seen fit to start recruiting players from over the border in the Royal county. If memory serves me it was also a on outsider who led your team to their last Ulster championship success.

What would your take be on that?
