Replying To if_in_doubt:  "Sorry lads I must have missed the match Meath were playing last night.

Desperate for attention some of ye are, keep it up.

Dan Flynn.... if I came home one night and found him in bed with Mrs if_in_doubt I'd ask him how he wants his eggs in the morning and let him have at it."
He took his goal really well last night but I wouldn't be heaping the praise on him yet. He butchered two other goal chances, one of which he should have passed to Doyle who was clean in. I'd like to see his vision and awareness improve. He's great at running with the ball but sometimes giving it to a player in a better position is the better option. He has great potential though.

Jekyll and hyde performance from Kildare. The first 10 mins in the second half sealed our fate. With Dublin out of the way, we now have to concentrate on our home games. The Dublin game was never going to define our league. Our two next opponents Monaghan and Tyrone both beaten today. We must beat Monaghan at home next Sunday and the following Sunday we have Tyrone at home. What sort of Tyrone team will turn up? They play Dublin in Omagh next weekend. On the basis of their performance against Galway today I can't see them troubling the Dubs. If we can win those two home games I believe it will go a long way towards staying in Division 1. I have a feeling our fate may come down to our last game against Galway in Newbridge. And a long awaited win against them.

Replying To kildare73:  "I'd like to see Flynn and Brophy together and playing more high ball in. If a team knows you are going to run every ball they will just wait for the chance, bottle you up and turn you over. At least the high ball gives an option to mix it. Flynn is full of ability but needs to add vision to his game. He's a young lad and hopefully it's just a matter of time before he learns sometimes there's a player in a better position than him. Cracking finish for his goal though."
Would still like to see him do a few more runs though. Hard man to stop without fouling him. Will Keith Cribbin be back for next one ?

A really par performance by Dublin, only went full throttle in the third quarter and then played rope a dope for the other three quarters.

We really need to work on our kick out strategy, the new rule will take some getting used to, but I think it will benefit more then anything. It creates a huge psychological dilemma of whether to concede and defensively set up or push up. Either of those two things aren't ideal if your playing Dublin.

Thought MDA struggled with the pace last night, hopefully it's just early season condititioning, Mick I think always has to work on fitness. Think Dublin could do with another strong fielder if I am honest. But maybe that's not our natural game.

Has anyone else notice that the team are developing into Hybrid footballers so many players are playing in different positions depending on what's going on in the game, Scully, Kilkenny, and Howard as comfortable in the backs as midfield, Cian, Jimmy Mac as comrtable at full back as the are at half back and midfield, what ever line needs assistance or quality a player goes there. It's almost like we play with an extra man in a line hen we need it most.

Great to see some of the young lads getting an opportunity all three did well, Howard for me is something special, Basquel has a touch of the Alan Brogans about him if he can knock some rough edges of and O Shea did well, great to see another option at full back a club mate of ROC as well. Hopefully we might Murchen , KOG, P. Small or Byrne at some point. Or send a detectives out to look for Costello or McHugh.

agree, they just getting better, beat second best team in leinster with ease, and they could put another team out that would beat them by more
