The Kerry way!

Maybe I'm over generising it but I think Kerry play more of a quality kick passing game historically and rely on quality of their end product.

Dublin in this era play differently with tiers of; skill in moving the ball up the pitch at speed, speed of thought, short quick passing game, primary and secondary movement, pace, athleticism, psychological strength, ruthlessness, relentlessness and blessed with this eras highest quality players.

I'm sure others will add to both above.

Mayo are interesting one, what is the Mayo way, or is there one?"
I suppose that put down of typical mayo footballer play football and not being dirty and all that jazz. As with my intentions of this thread it's those common perceptions of counties need to be debunked. When mayo won in the 50s we were able to do the dirty play as well as play football. Only thing I could say is could do is quote Tomas ose where he said mayo teams he played against never seemed to learn enough from their defeats which seems to ring true for me these days from the Mayo supporters. I had the same sense of dread before and after 17 final I'm sick of losing them now.

Spoddgy do you think mayo fans are too easy on ye'r team? Not so much yer management I think they get plenty of flack and most of it is deserved.
From an outsider looking in I often think ye just accept what ye get from yer players and they get an easy ride from ye supporters so to speak.

You have to be kidding! Mayo fans are at least as hard on their team as in any other county, if not harder at times. Off the top of my head, the likes of John Madden, Pat Holmes, Liam MacHale, John Casey, John Maughan, Ciarán MacDonald, JP Kean and even James Horan have all gotten a hard time off an element in the Mayo support. Keith Duggan's "House of Pain" goes into this in detail.

This is probably counterbalanced by the supporters who welcome the team back after All-Ireland defeats and whatnot, but I really wouldn't say it's true that Mayo footballers don't hear any criticism, they definitely do. And as in any other county, you get a few people willing to peddle nonsense about the team, as the Lee Keegan episode showed.

Aye that's what I was saying above about ye being hard on yer managements but maybe it's time the team took some stick, in fairness yer great fans ye easily brought the biggest crowed to Tralee last year during the league and everywhere else, I was in limerick when ye played cork and ye took over Ennis as well by all accounts.
But the players have to take some if not a lot of the blame as well they'll always seem to find new ways to lose the final.

The Kerry way for me would also be the best kick passers. A tradition of winning which does count.

As for my own county I would like to think our "way" is perseverance.

It must be infuriating to be a Mayo fan. Without a doubt, the best Mayo side ever very unlucky to share the top table with this particular Dublin team. I'm at the stage where I wouldn't hold anybody responsible for their failure to deliver, I genuinely believe that, after looking over all the recent big games all Christmas, they are just unlucky. Especially in the last couple of years.

I know what you're saying realdub but sometimes you have to make your own luck like we did in 2014.
I mean puttin Keane on Murphy in the 2012final , cillian O'Connor running in to o'shea In 2014 semifinal replay, hennelly kicking the ball straight out to a dub in the 2015 replay, changing Clark for the replay in 2016 , Donal Vaughan this year , is horrible luck is it the curse? I don't know and this isn't me taking the p@@s as I'd love to see mayo get over the line once of course it's not at our expense.
