Ahh happy new year. Anything to add to the thread? Or is it just the constant trolling of me again. Honestly son , you got issues.

Getting away from the Meath/Kildare ping pong, is there any point hoping that half of the Dublin team decide to go travelling for a year or two?

Are you mad ? The dubs would hardly leave crokepark for a league game not to mind go traveling :-)

Apparently I'm not a real Meath fan because I said kildare have an exciting young team! I think you've a few issues yourself lad...you are not definitely not a real GAA person anyway.

And since my posts re a couple of issues in the meath camp have all been removed I presume I came a bit too close to the truth.

I'd like to see Donegal stay in Div 1, win Ulster & compete well in the super 8's. A big ask, but not a totally unreasonable one. Might 2018 be the year we finally see Murphy back at full forward?

Nationally, it will be interesting to see if Dublin can be toppled. Mayo look to be the only team capable. But who knows what Kerry might do with a fully fit O'Donoghue, Geaney and young Clifford perhaps?

In the hurling I'd settle for another competitive championship with 4-5 teams in with a shout.

It'd be nice to kick off with a successful trip to Ennis on the first weekend of the league. And to continue in that vein throughout the year.

Cavan winning the game would be a nice bonus too I suppose ;)

Hope Tipp get to the Super 8's and I hope the Super 8's don't turn into a farce with meaningless games at the end of the groups and a number of hidings - which I suspect will be the case
Hope Tipp can somehow get out of the minefield that will be this year Munster hurling cship and if they do they haven't picked up a host of injuries.
From a non Tipp perspective I hope we see more competitive cships in all provinces and all codes.

My main hope for 2018 is that there is some kind of plan drawn up in every county with regards club fixtures and club players finally start getting a small bit of fair play. Some dual counties are already hinting at 3 matches in 7 days to try and get through the club scene to fulfil provincial fixtures. If they can actually start planning for 2019 it would be a start!

Good point about the Super 8's

Big change coming up and hopefully it proves to be entertaining

I suppose the bigger panels could possibly benefit the most?

Galway to retain Liam. Galway footballers to come 3-4 in division1 . Footballers win connacht and when playing dublin/kerry to go down all guns blazing. Those are my hopes . My dream is for us to do the double :)

You'd certainly imagine that will be the case. I'm sure Dublin were keen to keep hold of some of the older players for that reason. I'm not a fan of the idea of the Super 8's as it puts further pressure on club fixtures but I'm keen now to see how it works out.

And I can't wait. Look I let many things pass on here. But to say that we finding it hard to put team together for challenges and no one is turning up for training, I couldn't let those lies pass.
But you right, it's time too look forward. I can't wait for 8 tonight. And a good mix of players on team.
Hon the royal

What do you propose to happen for improvements in refereeing?
Would you like improvements of people's respect and treatment of officials at the same time?

More information being passed between umpires, linesmen and referees, give the officials other than the ref a say in decisions especially off the ball incidents, Croke Park to define the black card rule properly and use common sense, for example Jonny Cooper's black card in the 2016 final for an ankle tap on Donie Vaughan in the middle of the pitch, a tick or worse a yellow card would have been enough, I watched the All Ireland Final again on New Years day on TG4 and tried to watch it with a neutral view and in my opinion ref had a poor game, didn't really consult with his officials during the game, a few bad calls for frees on both teams, and he's suppose to be 1 of our top refs

Win back the National league and then hopefully make it to all Ireland Final and have a chance of the 4 in a row.

Fair enough points riverboys - might help officials gain the respect of players, managers and supporters.

Cork to win the double, Munster to win both Pro14 and champions cup, and man utd to win the champions league, out of all 5 hopes my bet none of the above will happen :(

I thought the refs were wired up to the umpires/linesmen!
