Both on the panel last year. Adam Tyrell dropped off early league.

Good call postponing. Definitely not safe for people driving from mullingar.

The second best (after Croker) playing pitch in Leinster lying idle today. Field of green (not white).
Pairc Tailteann nearer to both Newbridge and Mullingar. Meath matches going ahead no problem.

Would they be back for a possible All-Ireland semi final in February? I'm sure Moorefield wouldn't mind if the Leinster final was played after Christmas. Leinster Council should hold off for a few weeks. The winners play Corofin or Fulham Irish which is more than likely going to be rescheduled in the new year so what's the hurry?

Could possibly be back in February alright. Would be automatic starters if Moorefield did get over St.Lomans. Will the postponement be any advantage to Loman's, any injuries ?

Navan might be closer to Mullingar than Portlaoise but it certainly isn't closer to Newbridge!

They also need a floodlit ground given the possibility of extra time. That was the reason given for not fixing it for Tullamore. Portlaoise, Parnell Park and Croke Park the only grounds in the province with lights.

Luke Dempsey was reporting a clean bill of health this week. David Whelan didn't start the Simonstown game because of injury and full back Shane Flynn hasn't played since being sent off in the county final. Not sure what's the story with Flynn but they would be two big players for Loman's.

I know the story about the lights. You are of course right.

However at 4pm today in Navan it was crystal clear day.

Match could easily have been played without lights.

In any event, best of luck to both teams.

If Conor Lyman came back playing, Lomans would be some force. He would probably be Lomans and Westmeaths best player though this is obviously impossible to measure.

I was been diplomatic.
I don't know much about Moore field. I know plenty about lomans and tbh I can't see them been beat. I said before game simonstown wouldn't win no matter how much I wanted them too, I'd like to think that moorefield can win but I just don't see it. Its lomans for taking

Leinster should be wrapped up by end of November like the other 3 provinces. December not a time to be playing football.

There's a blast from the past!

Is he still playing football?

I agree with this.

But not with the Portlaoise player on the homepage where he argues that Leinster Council should have an alternative venue in place for yesterday's final. What about the safety of those travelling to the game in such dangerous conditions? He completely missed that.

To be fair to moorefield they have gotten this far without 3 county men in adam tyrell ryan houlihan and ciaran kelly. There not many clubs who could achieve that. Hopefully they do the business nxt week and make it a kildare senior minor leinster double after clane won the minor yestetday beating athlone

Moorefield missing Ciaran Kelly too! He scored five goals in one championship game last year.

In 2002 the Leinster Senior club final was in Navan between Mattock Rangers from Louth and Dunshaughlin from Meath. It was played on the Sunday before Christmas day on the 22nd December one day after the shortest day of the year.

Are you saying that Leinster council should somehow have known 2 weeks in advance that Portlaoise would have snow and Navan wouldn't?
