This one should be a cracker at Tuam Stadium on November 26th. I expect Corofin to shade a tight battle. Castlebar have been poor in early stages but improving with every game, however I think Corofin will be too strong for them. That said neither team is a s strong as they were 2/3 years ago and I don't expect any All Ireland to come west regardless of who is successful on the 26th

Corofin avenged for their 2015 defeat last year by beating Castlebar in MacHale park. That game finished 0-11 on 60 mins before Corofin prevailed in extra time, i would expect a similar low scoring encounter here. Worrying for the favourites Corofin is the fact they could easily have been beaten by a Brigids side in transition in normal time last Sunday and Castlebar have a better defence and midfield than Brigids currently have.

The ref was very kind to Brigid's now at times.There won't be much in the corofin v castlebar game.

I would be with my county man ISW on this one bud. We didnt expect anything out of this game, are in transition as ISW said ( and we will be back ) and tbh the ref drove us mad as well and we thought we got nothing out of him. Maybe Corofin were a bit complacent against Brigids but will definitely need to lift it substantially against Mitchells.

There's been very little between these two teams over the last few years. Along with Brigid's, they've completely dominated Connacht club football over the last decade.
I'd expect Sunday to be just as tight. Corofin have struggled at midfield against Castlebar, and were clever with their kickouts last year. Barry Moran is a serious force, especially at club level.
It should be close to as a high a standard as you'll get in club football, so I'll definitely take a spin in.

Can anyone tell me why did the Tuam Stadium stewards stop the Castlebar Mitchells team from entering the field through the main gate at the pitch, telling them they had to jump the wall beside the gate?? A minute later they open the gates for the Corofin panel. Seems ridiculous and very bad sportmanship from the galway lads.

Great comeback from Castlebar to force extra time. I hope they go on and win it now.

Corofin got exactly what they deserved imo. They showed no ambition in the last 15 mins and tried to just play out the time when they went 5 up.

Corofin were the better team. Castlebar kicked a lot of crazy wides but so did Corofin. Both teams have slipped back in my opinion.

Corofin did make heavy weather of it, and took some very poor options, when they could have killed off the game earlier. They did a lot better around midfield than in previous encounters with Castlebar and dominated possession. The pitch looked in poor condition, but then most are at this time of the year. Credit to both teams for trying to play positive football most of the time. Ian Burke although he didn't score, caused plenty problems and won a lot of ball. Sice had one of his better games that I've seen for quite a while. It's a wide open championship from here.

Corofin's great use of their strong squad saw them over the line again. The likes of Daithi Burke, Justin Burke and Dylan McHugh are worthy starters. Liam Silke is developing into a top player. He could play anywhere and Micheal Lundy played brilliantly just 10 days after an appendix operation.
