I agree that the vast majority of posters on here, and the majority of Meath fans are behing McEntee. I don't hink I'd put the figure at 99% though, judging from what I read on here, or hear at matches. Here's a couple of recent posts:

"But Ziggy this player unhappiness was flagged in the summer and is no surprise to anyone who talked to players.
You claim to be such a person, let's hear you thoughts as why we're seeing such an exodus this year.
And here's a hint: it's nothing to do with the last manager.

"Lads are not getting on with management same as when is was over the minors.
Now royaldunne your gone very quiet, this time last year Mc Entee was the saver and now you've players leaving because of him?
Micko doesn't look so bad now, 2 players left in Micko's time for one reason or another 5 have left already cause of McEntee and it's only the start of his second year, ouch

Players didnt walk away under the MOD regime because it was all very comfortable in fairness to MOD the malaise had set in before then, we had a lost decade in terms of preparation which was papered over by winning 1 Leinster and getting to 2 All Ireland Semis, they are being challenged in every way by current set up and it is a big shock to the system, what is expected and needed to be competitive is a huge culture shock, and honestly if a player does not wish to/ or is unable to commit to do what needs to be done to prepare than they are right to step away. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the different results,

Totally agree.
For whatever reason if you cannot commit 100% then you are better off not been on the panel.

Understand it's nice to have a nice set of Jerseys etc. but need to get back to topics of real relevence. For me while the talent started to drop off a bit after 2001, we still managed to compete well with Dublin right up to their 1st all -ireland under Pat Gilroy. With that they improved greatly with confidence and a group of talented players. We proceeded to cause self inflicted damage removing Eamon O' Brien and appointing an unsuitable manager in Banty. What looked like a decent appointment in Mick O' Dowd turned out to be anything but with the decision to let a group of our most talented players on the panel go proving very costly. Andy McEntee looked like a good appointment but it's time for some evidence of that. Watching the Meath manager complaining to the referee in the middle of the pitch at half time in Tullamore while our team was getting played off the field by Kildare did not look good. Anyway this thread is about next year and now is a critical time as once the season starts, there won't be much to time for change. Meath have appeared to change from a county feared throughout the country to one in which is good for young men to enjoy life experience and boost their own CV's and egos. The same personnel from the last management are largely still there despite having proven to be not adequate for this level. Let's hope the right moves are being made because more of the same will not do!

I like the new alternate jersey. It's refreshing to see new colours being used. I've always thought we must be the most conservative county in Ireland when it comes to colour. Alternative strips and keeper jerseys should be an opportunity to be a bit creative, and about 10/15 years ago we were creating some great strips (the green+white with green shorts, the grey keeper jersey, the white alternate top) but for the last few years we've been getting lazier efforts.

Our "alternate" keeper jersey is green the last few years, which is a stunning lack of imagination in my eyes.

Your point about self inflicted damage is well made and one I've alluded to before myself, post 2010 we have fallen away badly, there were signs in 2013 that we could be rising but those signs quickly fell away. In recent days I've actually started thinking that changes in the squad, and numerous ones, might be no bad thing. Maybe we need a lock of new blood to shake things up, new faces trying to prove their worth against more established players might be the catalyst to an increase of competition within the squad and a bit more bite and aggression, I look forward now to seeing the squad for the O'Byrne Cup and seeing what new talents may be unearthed
