Replying To brian:  "Ouch Royaldunne will not be impressed by this

Although tbf its a very very valid point.

But to balance it out Biggy is easily put out of games as he's the sole attention of most top teams when playing Meath. If we had 3/4 top class forwards Biggy wouldn't have as much attention drawn to him so would have a bit more space.

I'd love to see biggy kick 1-2/3 or 4/5 points in a tight close game against one of the top teams this upcoming summer and we can put this to bed."
Biggy never kicked 3,4 or 5 points against any top team in his inter county career, what makes ye think next year will be any different.

However I will respond to yours as it's a valid one.
Any egit can see the lesser teams can't handle graham, that's why he has a field day against them. Kildare double marked him as did Donegal, no other player was double up on from Meath in either game, now should he be better prepared for this type of treatment at this stage? Yes.
But then how do you loose a extra marker more efficiently? Have someone else who is just as dangerous with the ball. Newman showed previous he could be, lenihane has potential, O'Sullivan was my real disappointment last year, but must be given another shout ,
Re the captaincy, graham will remain as captain if he wants it, that goes without question, Andy is a stickler for consistency and will not change unless he has to.
Plus who would replace him? The only obvious one is Micky burke, is stoney a 70 minute man in 18?
Before anyone says Donal, he doesn't want it and has said so on record.
Only other option is Brian menton.
In short if graham wants another year as captain he will get it, and rightfully so
Ps you will have to remind me as I won't google it but did he not score 2 v Donegal?? In a tight match. Could be totally wrong. If I am apology in advance :)"
I'm sorry royaldunne I don't like disagreeing with you as I love your optimism of Meath football, but Andy's gamble of making biggy captain backfired last year, I be surprised if he makes the same mistake again

Really? Kildare 2012 , Dublin 2016 . Just a few off top of my head. Btw name one player on current panel who has kicked 3/4 points from play v big teams?

How exactly did it backfire? Not having a pop. But who else would have worked out differently? Honest question again just curious , captain these is no more than a link between management and players.

Re. Biggy--its a 20 man game these days. Use him from the bench but would not start him.

In our biggest game of the year against Kildare lenihan and o coilean both scored three plus, our most talented footballer barely touched the ball

My point earlier on though, was that you cannot have a half forward line of Wallace,Biggy and O'Sullivan

Agreed - but to be honest I dont think you can have a half forward line with Wallace in it at all, either of them. You should be able to find a way to start Reilly and O'Sullivan, but I don't think either Wallace is good enough to be starting.

As per today's Irish Independent Paddy O'Rourke is also out for 2018

Possibly, but if I was to play Cillian there it would be wider, always played his best football there. Who are the options for number 11 though?

If that's true it be interesting to see who our next keeper will be, paddy made mistakes but I genuinely taught his kick outs were improving, will be a loss I think even if he didn't start he would of been an experienced player to have on the panel

Has to be one of Jack Hannigan fom Don/Ash or Robbie Burlingham from Simonstown who were involved last year.
Next men up behind that i believe would be Jordan Browne (Colmcilles) and Johnny Lynch (Moynalty)
No way can we start Joe in a championship game in goals.

you have to make huge sacrifices in relation to your personal life to be part of a county panel and he's probably been the best part of 10 years giving all to the county set up.(also if you were him and saw/heard some of the abuse that was directed at him, would you keep putting yourself in the firing line) I wish him well in the future and hopefully it will give a chance for a young keeper to be bought in to work along side joe(if that is the road they are taking). Some people will have to look for a new scapegoat!!! God if graham reilly left aswell, who would they have to blame!!!

Wouldn't be too bothered and Por quitting. Too error prone in pressure situations and also can't be trusted not to lose the head and get sent off. A new goalkeeper was needed imo to try and progress to the next level and now with him gone the issue will be forced. Fair play to him for his effort and commitment over a number of years u can't fault that but I don't see it as a major loss.
