Well that's a little better StirringIt - at least you made a point at the end of the last comment. but then again, you said in your last comment "we don't have the b***s". So what is it? We don't have the players or we don't have the b***s! Debate is great but a huge amount of people marry the fact that we don't have good enough players to win an Ulster or be in Div 1 with comments like - 'the manager is useless' or 'there is no pride in the jersey'. That is consuming these forums and there is little talk about how we might improve. We can all sit here and moan all day but it may be interesting to hear peoples opinions on how we can improve and talk about potential improvement without someone like StirringIt writing a paragraph on the same old negativity. But you're entitled to you opinion, I agree with that but its never any harm to change the record occasionally! Reformation (Cavan) - Posts: 356 - 01/11/2017 11:24:27 2059472 Link 0 |
With that amount of players not committing as is the speculation, Cavan will probably end up in the Relegation mix. Tipperary have got players back, they will be stronger next year. Stephen O Brien a top midfielder. Cork have Ciaran Sheehan back from Afl. Roscommon too. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2752 - 01/11/2017 11:29:54 2059473 Link 0 |
I haven't got a blinkered view and I haven't said we are Kings of ulster and you are player bashing you said they have no balls and have called for Santa to bring backs forwards and midfielders so in essence you are saying to the players s there to feck off, so what if they are not Dublin or Kerry standard they are our county players that are busting themselves to represent us, so you need to realize that a lot of counties are the same as us and some worse, so you stop been blinkered and wake up and smell the coffee .

i know they're busting themselves but their best isn't good enough. We don't have the skill to compete with the best, therefore a multi tier championship is needed so lesser talented teams like us can compete at our own level., just like the leagues. We are not div 1 and possibly mid to bottom div 2, top half div 3. We can't compete with the big boys. I'm not saying they're not trying, just saying they're not good enough ! ps Santa bringing players was a joke.... we all know he can't bring players, just toys, games and football gear !

Does anyone know what players are in the panel?
blueman1903 (Cavan) - Posts: 877 - 03/11/2017 12:19:53 2060042 Link 0 |
It appears that the Cavan setup is in complete disarray and I dont say that likely. gowna02 (Cavan) - Posts: 99 - 04/11/2017 20:32:53 2060490 Link 0 |
I'd like to know that too. A lot of people claiming players won't commit and yet they can't post the panel. Either name the current panel or stop talking rubbish. Then we can all see who has committed and who hasn't. Remember it's November so no players should be involved in collective training - it's too early to say a player isn't going to be involved. Also, wouldn't expect any Gaels players involved yet. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4981 - 04/11/2017 22:02:56 2060506 Link 0 |

I see Killian Clarke commenting having no excuses next year. Not a forward in the county and without one they wont do anything fearmanach1 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 15 - 07/11/2017 12:12:00 2060970 Link 0 |
I'd have to agree. Hard to see past a Fermanagh procession in the ulster and maybe all ireland championship! cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4981 - 07/11/2017 12:48:59 2060978 Link 2 |
Of course they can't post a panel when there is more playes opting out then committing.

A lot of last year's panel not asked back in , players with a lot of experience playing when we got promoted to Division 1 hard to know how they all got so bad shannon414 (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 07/11/2017 20:09:22 2061076 Link 0 |
I don't think this is true. I'd suggest they would take anyone of last years panel with open arms. Can you name any person on last years panel that wasn't asked back

Aren't the county players supposed to be on a break by the rules of the GAA until the new year? Or has that been done away with? Reformation (Cavan) - Posts: 356 - 08/11/2017 08:39:45 2061130 Link 0 |
It appears that the Cavan setup is in complete disarray and I dont say that likely. Numerous players unwilling to commit for various reasons. top class s&c coach from last 3 seasons has left. finbar reilly gone, j higgins gone and have not been replaced as far as i know. new members of panel are not up to level required or even near it unfortunately I dont know what the problems are or why so many are uninterested and unwilling to commit? Is it down to the training load and commitment required for no reward? gowna02 (Cavan) - Posts:79 - 04/11/2017 20:32:53 2060490 I just want to ask you a question you say top class s&c coach left after 3 years I am not sure he has been there 3 years but I will accept it if you think so. His contract as far as I know was S&C for the seniors juniors and U21 can any of the latter two teams mentioned tell me if he ever did a session with them. There is a new fitness coach in so let's see how fit he can get these players. None of the gaels team would be in if the county are training. Kiernan is a fine player but needs to be though discipline otherwise he will be a problem for any manager to depend on him despite his huge potential. I hear names being mentioned but no one has mentioned Sheridan from Arva in fact there are two others from Arva I would like to see being brought in if only to see how they would perform for I thought they showed excellent awareness and skill. Just a little foot note if players or people involved with management cannot show respect for others they are well gone. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 08/11/2017 12:11:23 2061189 Link 0 |
Collective training is not allowed during the months of November and December. It still happens. I know Cavan started back in November last year and I know Meath had their first training session last night. Btw, they are also struggling to hold on to players. 6 of last years panel were asked back but have opted out. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4981 - 08/11/2017 13:56:28 2061211 Link 0 |
Which Kiernan is it
theDagger1986 (Cavan) - Posts: 181 - 08/11/2017 21:08:08 2061305 Link 0 |
Oisin Kiernan, Castlerahan

I think seanorinn is relating to Mark Kiernan Ballymacugh when speaking about discipline. Think he was sent off 1-2 times this year. Oisin Kiernan is also there but this wouldnt be an issue with him.
