Dont say the curse isn't real

Replying To KY4SAM2015:  "Dont tell me when COC hit the post in the final few minutes or when Keegan dropped the ball into cluxtons chest with a very easy scoring opportunity that this curse didnt cross each and everyones mind watching the game.

Not to mention the own goals last year and the numerous close losses over the years. The odds to come out on the wrong side everytime must be huge. A curse or some sort is the most logical answer."
That's about as far from logical as you can get to be fair.

Replying To avonali:  "This 'curse' is just another way to deflect from the reality. It is a defeatist and enabling myth that removes responsibility from the players from failing to get over the line. The players are absolved of all responsibility because there a larger forces at work. That is an unacceptable level of b****x right there. Do people think God -or the Gods- has nothing better to be doing with his/her time than make sure Mayo doesn't win an All-Ireland??? Doesn't he have tsunamis and other natural disasters to organize? They'll be writing post-grad theses on this phenomenon soon."
Of the curse is utter nonsense but this just sounds like you re having a pop at Mayo's attitude based on what the people of Mayo feed into the team which is equally ridiculous. Who amongst the Mayo players, past or present, has ever blamed the curse? Who on this thread from Mayo agrees there is a curse? How many people in Mayo do you know who blame the curse? Bar the very odd crank no one in Mayo blames the curse.

Please close this thread. Nobody with half a brain in Mayo believes in the curse. The players themselves have taken responsibility again. It appears the curse has gained more interest outside the county in from within. Ill admit it's a good yarn....there may be a film made someday about it.

Not to mention there's no such thing as curses in the Catholic faith.

There is no curse. It's just another media myth. Mayo are an excellent team and they will keep going to the well until Sam is won. Whether that's next year, the following year of in 2051, we will be following them all the way. Their effort this year was top class and we were just beaten by a team that were .01% better than us on the day of the All Ireland Final. 2018 can't come quick enough

Biddy Early is fondly remembered in Co Clare as an extraordinary woman who devoted her time to comforting and healing the sick. She is not known ever to have cursed anyone. She experienced some difficulty with one local clergyman of the day who, for reasons of his own, would have her labelled a "witch". This clergyman's malicious intentions have been greatly assisted recently by those journalists and commentators (outside of Clare) who have been busily referring to the "Curse of Biddy Early". Who started this silly rubbish? ... Some of these people would try to tell us that Biddy decreed that Clare would win no All-Ireland until after all the 1914 team had passed away. Biddy Early died in 1875 before the foundation of the GAA and long before there was any inter-county competition!

The curse is just an excuse, there are 3 reasons why a team loses any match, No 1 we weren't good enough, the other team were better. No 2 our management made mistakes on the sideline. No 3 the referee had a poor game. Mayo have experience in all 3 reasons over the years

You should have stopped at number 1.

I don't think anyone with any sense believes in curses, fairies etc etc. but I will say this, the 2 own goals last year, the 2 lads clashing heads in Limerick in 2014, COC hitting the post with that last free this year, I just get a weird feeling about Mayo, I suppose it's all nonsense, right?
some strange things seem to keep happening to Mayo though, it's a bit like that film 'Final Destination' woooohooh!!
