Mayo and the 90's Dubs team

(Oldest Posts First)

Some striking similarities

Both have shown a relentless desire to win Sam

Both never gave up despite some bad loses, both called bottlers, both have struggled with a lack of options up front but have a Rolls-Royce half back / full back line

And if Mayo can beat the modern version Dublin team I can also see another striking similarity after the fact with the 90's version

It could be the beginning of the end for them once they finally get their hands on their ultimate prize.

Like that Dublin team. There's some tired warriors on that Mayo team who might just have one last maximum push before it all slows down.

Honestly think it's now or never for this particular Mayo team. If that Dublin team hadn't of beaten Tyrone in 1995.. they'd have never won one after it.

Jayo was the game changer Liam

Before him coming along and offering a rejuvenating factor we weren't good enough.. as was proven.. unfortunately!!

Imagine having a Connolly/Brogan combo back then!
