Another great gone, what a player he will be badly missed by Offaly. Skill, accuracy and speed a player that would have got on any team in Ireland. All the best in your retirement

Best wishes to Niall. Great player. I remember him as an 18 yr old tormenting Tom Kelly of Laois, who played corner back that day, back in 2003.

Great player.

Wonderfully stylish footballer,Brilliant fielder of the ball, create player to create chances for others and of course a great scoreer himself and a player that would ahve got on every other team in the country at his best.

The whole weight of having to carry the team really took it's toll on him form about 2010 onwards and you never got to see him be as great as he would have been had he been from a stronger county.

One of Offaly and the GAA' s greatest players. In a lean time for Offaly he was our brightest talents.
He will still grace the club scene. Thanks Niall, for all your displays for this county.

one of the offaly greats . sadly he operated in the lower leagues and out of the national media for most of his career. he will go down as one of the great players that never won an all ireland. he made his first appearance against laois as an 18 year old in leinster .he was being marked by tom kelly who was generally regarded at the time as one of the best corner backs in ireland.niall gave him a roasting. id regard him as in the top 3 offaly forwards i seen playing, along with matt and tony mctague.

I'd put Vinny Claffey in that category aswell , he was pure class also.

One of Offaly's greats, class player. Privlage to see to see the man play, shame he didn't get much recognition, which he deserved. Best off luck to him in the future.

I agree with you...way too much expected of him in recent years, a lot more needed to step up to the plate and didn't....

Watched Vinnie from behind the goal in Mullingar one day. Think he only played the last 15 minutes. Caused mayhem! Was so impressed with his movement and teamwork. Serious player and career also

Good luck to Niall
