fascinating to see Mayo posters already justifying a potential loss, the pressure will over boil in Mayo camp as the county fans dont know when to stop

Mirrored by the number of Dublin fans who have a need to assert how superior they are and can't wait to rub Mayo fans noses in it. The rest of us hear ye -- youse will get your 3 in a row ( for starters) and won't it be great for ye.

Dick Clerkin makes an interesting observation in todays paper...

He pretty much suggests that Mayo forward line is much better without AOS in it, i tend to agree, while AOS is excellent at winning throw ups and drawing some frees he does tend to slow up a lot of the forward play by always carrying the ball into traffic when he gets it, he never lets the ball off quick enough

Andy, COC and Doherty seemed way more liberated then usual in the 2 kerry games because of this. Ball was coming in quicker, there was more space on the D etc and the Mayo forward line functioned better than it has in years.

Also, from the last few meetings Philly McMahon has dealt with him quite comfortably when he has played up front. IMO the only place AOS can play in Final is as orthodox deep lying midfielder winning primary possession where possible

No, that'll do for now. I'll be back if a Dublin based referee is appointed for the final....again!

Maybe the reason Mayo spend more than Dublin is we actually play away games! We don't play all games in our own County. Travelling expenses, Dublin hotels charging a fortune for rooms on weekends of matches when teams have to travel the night before games. Also 10 of the Mayo panel are travelling from Dublin to training in Mayo on a weekly basis all year. How many Dublin players work outside the capital. Mayo players are making 6 hour round trip journeys mid week for training and the biggest problem with travelling the Dublin lads had last year was the Bus Strike.

That's it! Expecting my Mayo/Kerry/Cork/Tyrone colleagues to cheer for us in the final what with them being "based in Dublin".

Where AOS should be playing is the edge of the small square and exploit one of the few weaknesses in the Dublin team - The lack of height of their keeper and full back line. Mayo played AOS at full forward last year but they had him on the 13. That is no use. Even when he got the ball he had to take on his man, and in most cases 2 or 3 men.He needs to be in a place where he can use his height to flick the ball into the net. Very easy to do, very hard to defend against and with the new square ball rules, he has the advantage. Only one high ball went into the Dublin square in both of last years finals, Cluxton (whom I'm a huge fan of) unconvincingly punched the ball away. It was the same as Donaghy last week. Too far out. Edge of small square and tell him if he leaves the 13, you're taking him off.

Dublin played away from home in the Championship and across NFL Div 1

Mayo played plenty of games at home across the last number of years in the championship

Fact remains

Mayo spent above everyone else in 2016 while being almost bankrupt.

Mayo have it written in the Stars this year Dublin are excellent but Mayo hunger will win it for them but they will have to go for it no sweeper or containment tactics

I tend to agree Aidan O Shea coming from deep opens holes in opposition and forwards are doing fine as they are hope manager does not tinker with team and some stunt

All west of the Shannon this year Galway for the hurling & Maigh O to finally bring Sam back after 66 years

Dublin By a street. Lovely football from Mayo, per usual. but.................will heap pressure on themselves, through over ambitious views. Cant take the pressure and management will make tactical mistakes, as per usual. Sad but true. I will be rooting for them along with 31 other counties but wont be crying with them when they get bate.

Ah yeah, sure Dublin aren't hungry at all, sure what's 3 in a row?!

Mayo. Dublin have not been tested whereas Mayo are battle hardened and have improved with every game to the point where they
look phenomenal

This is nonsense that Dublin have not been tested all year. They topped division 1 without getting out of 2nd gear and doing zero training. All year we have been hearing that Tyrone are the team to beat Dublin and when Dublin put in the best performance of 2017 the goal posts move. Dublin are primed for the final this year and I take them to win by 6pts.

I like your style Jimbo. "Dublin play away from home in the Championship". Probably twice in the last ten years and then only down the road. Are you sure you're not a politician?
