Dublin could be in for a shock if Mayo get of to a good start this time, and Dublin don't like playing catch up, they have the capacity to implode and panic if the pressure is on them, like in 2014 semi final.

I remember seeing a video of press conference in Letterkenny before that 2014 game, National Journalists sniggering when Jim McGuinness said Donegal were going down there to win.

Regarding this years All Ireland final, I think the way to beat Dublin will be to take them the distance, go toe to toe with them for 70+ minutes. Mayo are not defensive sound enough to open up a huge lead and then hope to sit back and defend it, Mayo's strength is their versatility around the pitch and they should use that."
I know what you're saying when I came on here in June 2011 I said "domination was coming" there was a lot of sniggering from hoganstand posters after I repeatedly said this and most of the posters laughing are gone into hiding now."
I think people saw this coming from Dublin. The Vodafone sponsorship was a huge leap ahead of the rest of the pack.

It may have got a few laughs in 2011 as most people expected one last kick from that great Kerry team. . .had joe mcquillan pulled kev mcmenamon up for those steps, who knows - it may have prolonged the inevitable for a few years more.

I wouldn't dispute that Mayo are a tough team to play against, and of course they curtailed us, but we made a lot of poor mistakes/decisions.

A player takes the same or more steps in every single game I've ever seen.

Yes a bit lazy to come out with the 'all the pressure is on Dublin' thing. Makes little sense. It's an All Ireland final. Both teams will feel the pressure of that. Could argue it's a little less so on Dublin in that they've nailed 4 AIs in recent years. For Mayo it's a long wait and each year the team must feel the pressure somewhat to end that long wait. All said and done, doubt pressure will be a deciding factor.

Mayo by 2."

Dublin don't like playing catch up? Like last year's semi final against Kerry when we were 2-8 to 0-9 down at half-time?

2014 is three years ago, 3 full seasons ago, I doubt it has any bearing on the game. If Mayo win, itll be down to a sublime performance and they will deserve it. I get where you are coming from though, got to hold onto the glory days but remember Donegal went on to lose to Kerry a few weeks later. Point being that it's very difficult to have a great performance every game. Will Mayo be able to continue the form they showed against Kerry?

Where do we see AOS playing lads, i am thinking trying to do a job on Cian O Sullivan? That would be an interesting match up. Not sure how effective that will be?

Can see Dublin playing a double sweeper system at times with Kilkenny and Scully dropping back to the half back line to enable a defender to support Cian sweeping, then reverting back when attacking.

I'd place Aidan O'Se between midfield/centre forward, try and get him involved early running at people. Certain times in at full forward with COC and Andy Moran. I wouldn't like to have him bogged down stuck with Philly Mac all day, he cab get lost in those type of one on ones. Keep him central involved and driving forward. Easier said than done!

Just listening to Sean Kavanagh on the SG last night and no Mayo player should listen to that interview. He's totally in awe of Dublin and it was insightful they way he kept saying Dublin weren't like 8/9 years ago!! He actually sounded naive. Mayo have the benefit of playing Dublin regularly since 2012. Kavanagh was harping back to the Tyrone glory days and his own and no wonder he's find Dublin awesome.

I'm not saying Dublin aren't brilliant but even Man O' War was beaten by Upset in 1919! If Mayo go out with his and to a lesser extent, Tomas O'Se's thinking they may aswell stay at home. Mayo won't though, exposure to the Dubs and that they can stay with them will keep them clear of Sean Kavanagh's way of thinking.

Sean Kavanagh and Tomas O'Se have been really over the top with their praise for this Dublin team over the last couple of weeks. Yes, they are a fantastic team with an incredibly strong bench but all this talk about 5 or 6 in a row and how they only need to be at 80% to beat Mayo is ridiculously premature. I have never seen such hysterical claims about a team in the build-up to an all-Ireland - not even when the great Kerry or Kilkenny teams were at their peak.

I have to say I dislike the way people talk about 2014 and that Dublin imploded or fell apart for some reason. It's so disrespectful of Donegal in implying that Donegal only won because Dublin couldn't handle the pressure.

That was an excellent Donegal team that were All-Ireland Champions 2 years previously. They won that game because they played brilliantly on the day and were superior to Dublin. Dublin actually played quite well in that game for all the talk about naivety and implosions, it was just Donegal were fantastic on the day.

I really hope if Mayo win on Sunday that people actually give them the credit for it, unlike some people who seem intent on taking away from Donegal's performance in 2014.

I think the best think that happened Dublin is that Donegal loss. Not for the change in the system that is brought but for the fact many many people think this Dublin team don't have bottle. Will throw in the towel if they are not leading. Statements like Mayo have to be in contention up till the 60 minute and then kick on.....but have often have we seen Dublin on the 60th minute been level or behind but kick on becuase of the bench.

We should continue to push the myth Dublin have no bottle and let others fall into the trap.

Againgst Tyrone we were told hunger would work against us.

This Dublin team are not just pyshically strong but mentally so as well. They know they have a window on their careers and want to make hay while the sun shines.

Mayo have the bottle and the momentum becuase they won 7 matches this year on the trot but Dublin are fragile to falling behind becuase they lost 2 matches (Semi in '14 and League this year '17) in the last 3 years???

Keeping Aidan O'Shea at the back has been working for Mayo and I'd imagine he would start there and depending on circumstances, he would push forward to change it up. O'Shea is due a big game in a final, he's a great player. There is no one particular forward that needs to be signalled out on the Dublin team, if a back gets the better of a Dublin forward, another will always step up and O'Shea is likely to have most influence at Midfield.

The build up to this game is eerily silent. No hype from both camps, heads down and focus is on the game alone. Ideal preparation for Mayo methinks! Maybe the media will kick in soon with the curse articles and the Croke Park final stresses!!

We are at that point in the week
Where people trawl through newspaper articles, to find views that justify their own feelings

People still wondering where Aidan O'Shea should play
This Dublin team have evolved and moved on from all this stuff
It doesn't matter to them where he plays
Dublin will stick to their own game plan

They are just opinions at the end of the day and mean little in the grander scheme of things.
Dublin will not be too concerned about what is said in a studio or newspaper.
Mayo equally will not prevail if they do because of what some lad said during the week.
Plenty of hype around the two you mentioned when they were winning.
Has proved more difficult to win back to back in football though never mind 3.
