what is the meaning of this about not by their supporters seems very poor from the writer as many dublin supporters in the stands stood up to applaud him and all around me on the hill clapped and gave him a cheer.

Not only one of the greatest, but probably the most decorated Ulster footballer, 3 All SFC, 1 MFC, 2 U-21, 5/6 Ulster SFC, 8 Mc Kenna Cups, Railway Cups, Mc Crory Cup, International, All Stars etc

Worthy of the applause he got when going off. Only saw the SG live now and was emotinal stuff with SC having his family around him and all. Says a lot abou the man that the oppostion queued up to acknowledge him. Nice touch by Cluxton & Co.

Always sad to see great players leave the Championship but worth noting how lucky we are to be around to get to see these greats on the big stage.

Sean has been a magnificent player for Tyrone and we are very grateful we had his presence on the team for as long as we did. He is a legend in Tyrone and we will be forever grateful for all he has done for Tyrone football. Thanks big man and enjoy taking things a little easier.

For me, Sean is up there with Peter Canavan, Sean O'Neill and John Joe O'Reilly on the Mount Rushmore of Ulster GAA greats.

Whatever way you might measure such things, Sean fits the criteria of a legend - trophies, individual awards, longevity, signature games, skills and esteem of his peers - and I really don't use the term lightly. Many footballers have had long careers, but few have been performing at an elite level for 15 years (All Star in 2003 and tremendous Ulster final display in 2016) - that is extremely rare, and even moreso for a midfielder.

It's worth mentioning the type of guy that Sean is. In all his days playing for club and county, I've never known him to throw a dirty dig at an opponent, despite the constant provocation that such greats receive. He's also as friendly, affable and likeable a guy off the field.

A superstar of the modern game, and perhaps the most complete footballer of his generation, it was lovely to see the Dubs recognise his greatness, and queue up to shake his hand. Their fans too, as many of them stood to give him an ovation after he was substituted. Growing up in Tyrone, I idolised the Kerry and Dublin stars of the 70s, so it was great to be reminded that we too can produce players who are similarly thought of by fans and players from other counties.

A fantastic player, who after 13 or 14 years was still able to sell that exact same dummy. Great playing career with Tyrone, I'm sad to see him wrap up his career and not give it one more year.
