Replying To Laois76:  "Next year's All Ireland final Laois v Limerick. Laois out to bridge a 103 year gap. Limerick 45.

Carlsberg don't do hurling finals, but if they did...."
Love it! Although I think Carlsberg should concentrate on brewing a beer that doesn't taste like pisswater first and get their own house in order!

Wouldn't begrudge either of these great counties a title but I'll be cheering on the Deise because

a) They've waited far longer for some success
b) Galway will be back as contenders next year but not convinced Waterford will, necessarily
c) Always enjoyed a day trip to Tramore as a kid on holidays back in Wexford (why did the rollercoaster get dismantled, does anyone know?)

I don't drink Medwayirish but i'll take your word for it!!

Laois had their last final v Tipp in 1949, it didn't work out well!

Now we had a 'Carlsberg' final against Cork in 1915. We won our 1 and only hurling all-ireland 6-2 to 4-1! The day was so wet Cork played in their overcoats in the second half... that might have helped our lads who played in the old style togs and tops.

Galway for me. Love to see Joe Canning and team mates eventually get their all Ireland. Don't like this helmet issue in Waterford. They had no need to do that. I count it dangerous play.

If Carlsberg was the best beer in the world I wouldn't drink either! I'd put it below Bud, marginally ahead of Carling and Coors, which is no endorsement as they're horrible, horrible beers. Bottom of the entire barrel would be Skol. How anyone can force that s**t down their throat I'll never know!

Backed Waterford last October to win it so obviously be shouting for them. I'd be shouting for them either way though

Galway for the following reasons...
1. Great for the west,if liam McCarthy comes to connacht, a hurling wasteland, connacht needs an all ireland of some sort.
2.joe canning, a great stalwart of the game, still only 30 but a lot of hurling done, a player like him deserves his all ireland.
3. Galway with their style of hurling, tough ,fair, skill, and 15 on 15, no over emphasis on tactics
4. With the passing of tony keady and the loss of niall donughue a few years ago id love nothing more for this all ireland to b won for them.
5. My ancestors were from the west so I suppose ill b rooting for them too
As regards waterford if they do win it will still b great, I had a soft spot for the 07 team as I felt there was an all ireland in them, but galway have played in a lot of finals since 88 and lost so they need this more I think.

Galway though if we have to lose I'd be happy it to be Waterford. Tired of KK and Tipp.

Canning is a bit off 30 yet and doesn't deserve it any more than david Burke and the rest of the team. Nor does the west deserve it any more than Waterford but you're entitled to your opinion I suppose! May the best team win!

Galway....especially after the shocking decision to turn a blind eye to gleeson.

It's the 'dream' ticket with 2 new teams in that Kilkenny and Tipperary are not there. Many will want to see Big Joe getting a medal for the Tribesmen and many more will be looking to Michael Brick Walsh getting a medal... Not to have won since 1959 is a long time and I would like to see The Deise win due to their long wait. I also feel for the players who did not get one in recent years like Ken McGrath and Tony Browne. Those men and John Mullane gave their all in epic games and fell just short to a great Kilkenny performance.

Perhaps a draw!

I have not seen any American team in the list of All Ireland winners.

What is all this sympathy for Galway about. I am in my late sixties and only two counties have won both the Liam McCarthy and Sam McGuire Cups in my lifetime and Galway is one of them.
