Galway or Waterford - your preferred winner?

Galford.

If it wasn't for the fact I've a decent lump of money on Galway to win the league and All-Ireland I placed way back (at very good odds) I'd probably go for Waterford. . but money aside I can hardly pick between them... Would have to go for Waterford as I spend a lot of time down by the Waterford/Tipp border and feel sorry for their fans, a lot like Galway's actually and Mayo's in the football. They're three counties that always seem to be bridesmades. Either way, at least one of them will be gettting married come September.

I'm delighted to have two 'new' teams and find it difficult to choose between them. Family ties to both counties does not make it any easier although I'll have to admit that the Austin Gleeson affair is inclined to tip me towards Galway.

Obviously Waterford but if beaten could not wish anyone else but Galway to have it. Enjoyed the many trips to Salthill for league games when we could not hold a candle to them. When they were in Munster or a championship match it was a given we would win. John Connolly and his brother were my idol.

Replying To Pinkie:  "Don't buy that Waterford are great supporters, we played them 2-3 years ago in Nowlan Park and of 20k attendance, 15k were from Wexford at a cautious guess. Having said that, I do hope they win for the likes of Brick Walsh, Kevin Moran, Maurice Shanahan.
I think there is an All-Ireland in Galway after this year, I am not so sure re Waterford."
to be fair pinkie they were at very low ebb then ye were on a high - they brought around 11/12 k to under final last year

Carlsberg don't do hurling finals, but if they did...."

I was just reading over the comments so far and 13 to 7 in favour of Galway, surprised at that. Suppose it's a bigger county and more people seem to have connections/relatives there.

Likewise. Of course I want Galway to win, but if we lose I will be glad for Waterford. It is great to finally have a final without one of the big 3.

Between Galway or Waterford, not inclined either way at the moment, but between Joe Canning and Austin Gleeson, would much prefer Canning to win.

that said justice demands joe canning gets that elusive all ireland medal

either way ill be jealous as hell wondering if i will ever see us win it"
I'd give away that and a few other football titles for one more senior hurling All Ireland.

Canning is 30 next year so his chances are running out.Gleeson is young in his early 20s and he should have more opportunities even though Waterford don't get to many All-Ireland Finals.

Don't think you're being funny pal but possibly a bit unrealistic. Can't see anything other than a return to the usual suspects next year but I'd love to be proved wrong on that.
