Incredible game, well done Galway, and hard luck Waterford. Both teams a credit to their counties and families. westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 03/09/2017 17:10:40 2042205 Link 0 |

So to all the posters who argued that Galway hadn't improved under the new management? Clueless. Different team last 2 years. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7830 - 03/09/2017 17:11:29 2042207 Link 1 |
Unbelievable final. Loved it. Huge congratulations to Galway. The better team all throughout the championship imo. Commiserations to Waterford though. Just too many wides at the end. DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 03/09/2017 17:11:56 2042208 Link 1 |
Galway deserved to win, got their scores easier and had a broader spread of scorers. Waterford tried their best but were relying on defensive mistakes from Galway to keep them in the game. My score prediction of 1-24 to 2-18 was pretty close, Galway were always going to heavily outscore Waterford in points and Waterford would need goals to keep in touch and that's how it transpired. ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1246 - 03/09/2017 17:15:49 2042210 Link 0 |

Waterford will be very disappointed but Galway delivered when the match was there to be won in the last 10 minutes. So often, Galway teams have not done that.Hopefully Waterford will have their day. They are young enough to be back. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2141 - 03/09/2017 17:18:01 2042212 Link 0 |

Not a classic, very scrappy at times but Galway fully deserved it. Very sad and emotional to see the young family of the late Tony Keady on the pitch. Life is very cruel and unfair at times. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9688 - 03/09/2017 17:32:00 2042223 Link 1 |

Congrats to Galway well deserved and hard luck to Waterford. For me Waterford failed to take some chances in 2nd half and probably didn't do themselves justice. But a great game which meant so much to these two counties well done to both on a great final. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4892 - 03/09/2017 17:38:53 2042229 Link 0 |

A great win for Galway,Waterford had chances but failed to take them, another day they would go over,I think in hindsight that Conor Gleeson was a big loss for Waterford, they are young enough to be back challenging for an AI,emotional day for Galway, worthy champions. mooncat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 533 - 03/09/2017 18:26:08 2042239 Link 0 |
