Terribly sad news, RIP Tony Keady. As Daithi Regan put it last week, he was the prince of centre backs. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 10/08/2017 13:05:43 2031961 Link 1 |

What a shock. I had the privilege of seeing him play alongside Pete Finnerty and Gerry Mc many times when that great half-back line was in its prime. RIP Tony. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 996 - 10/08/2017 16:05:50 2032035 Link 1 |

Gone way before his time, a legend of the game and he will never be forgotten particularly in Galway hurling circles. RIP Tony Keady, and deepest sympathies to his young family who have lost a husband and father way before his time. gilly0512 (Galway) - Posts: 1176 - 10/08/2017 21:37:05 2032158 Link 0 |

Indeed you are right, he was a great man to stand over a ball. He once joked (or maybe not) that as he used to bend down to scoop the sliotar at the same time the umpire would stoop to gather the white flag. RIP Tony, slan abhaile.

Shocking news to hear of a man so young and fit and with so much life to live taken so suddenly, certainly a hurler who stood out for me when watching in my younger days, sincere condolences to his family and friends, RIP Tony Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 11/08/2017 14:35:40 2032375 Link 0 |
I have come to the conclusion over the past month that Tony Keady is probably hurling's greatest character. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 06/09/2017 21:20:06 2043639 Link 1 |
