Ah no, wouldn't subscribe that it's got weaker in any way. With the format as it is, I don't see the provincial battles as having too much bearings on who'll win the AI. When the dust settles and we move to the QF, the top 4 are still the ones who stand out against the rest,

Replying To Ulsterman:  "There's an oul Derry man who I meet in the park when we walk our dogs. He's the wisest GAA 'head' going and is convinced Tyrone will be in the All Ireland final this year. He bet on Donegal beating Dublin in 2014 BUT then bet on Kerry beating Donegal in the final. He made over 2 grand on his bets and it paid for his holiday that year. I really haven't heard him call a wrong result yet and many of his predictions have been spookily on the button."

He's definitely not Joe Brolly ;)

In fairness Tyrone looked good yesterday. On their day they can beat the big 2 of Dublin and Kerry. No disrespect to Mayo but i can see them winning an all-ireland sooner.

Often the provincial fare at smaller provincial grounds and the qualifiers are excellent. Nothing wrong with gaelic football at all. There are possibly more skillful players playing the game now than ever before if we were to tot up the individuals in all the counties.

I don't think Leinster is weak, it's more Dublin are so good. I think the present Kildare team would be very competitive in any other era and possibly win Leinsters. Never has a panel assembled so many talented forwards, both playing and on the bench, in the history of gaelic football in my opinion. That's a sweeping statement. While Kerry 1975-86 would have equaled them in their first 6 subs i doubt they'd have 6 lads equally as good to come on. Not to the extent where a Diarmuid Connolly class player wasn't missed at all.
