Ah no, wouldn't subscribe that it's got weaker in any way. With the format as it is, I don't see the provincial battles as having too much bearings on who'll win the AI. When the dust settles and we move to the QF, the top 4 are still the ones who stand out against the rest,

There's an oul Derry man who I meet in the park when we walk our dogs. He's the wisest GAA 'head' going and is convinced Tyrone will be in the All Ireland final this year. He bet on Donegal beating Dublin in 2014 BUT then bet on Kerry beating Donegal in the final. He made over 2 grand on his bets and it paid for his holiday that year. I really haven't heard him call a wrong result yet and many of his predictions have been spookily on the button. No disrespect to Mayo but i can see them winning an all-ireland sooner. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 17/07/2017 17:26:20 2018289 Link 2 |
Often the provincial fare at smaller provincial grounds and the qualifiers are excellent. Nothing wrong with gaelic football at all. There are possibly more skillful players playing the game now than ever before if we were to tot up the individuals in all the counties.
