Replying To GAAdundalk:  "Clans are now the mayo of county Louth. A 5th final loss for 5-6 of those lads if you include 2015 final replay. Hard to take and might be the end for a few lads."
We'll be back....

Yesterday's result:
Connell's 1-11 Clans 0-08

Congrats to the Connells on winning their second Inter Championship in six seasons. They are back in Senior after just one season in Inter. Like the Glens in the Junior final the underdog comes out on top.

Your right. I am tipping the super Rats to bring Joe Ward home to the North Road next year.

19616609 there is only one Jimmy Magee. What a Louth Legend he was.

No club has ever won back to back Inter and Senior titles in Louth. It would be some achievement if the Connell's did this.

They did indeed 19616609. They were one of three clubs to do this. Cooley were the first to do this in 1935 after winning Junior the year before and the Mhuires who were based on the southside of Drogheda did it in 1953 after winning the Junior the year before. Also three clubs won back to back Junior/Inter titles. The Plunkett's were the first to do this in 1984/1985, followed by the Gaels 1986/1987 and the Dreads were the last club to this feat 1999/2000. I wonder who will be the first club to win back to back Inter and Senior titles.

I think if the Mochtas can get Casey Byrne back from Australia when his contract is up in 2019, he could kick them to win the Intermediate champ, they have some nice underage players coming through. You do need that touch of class to get you over the line in a very competitive championship.
