Well done to the minors on a tough win against Sligo. The Yeats County's no. 14 was something special though. Anyhow, very nervous towards the end, especially with Derry's point disallowed towards the end (linesman crossed the flags and the other seemed to point to the small square, indicating an infraction when the ball broke back to the scorer.) No easier next time out. Hopefully there will be a full deck to play with from the get go.

We had 17 wides which tells its own story - if we had scored half of our wide tally we would have won this game Handy but it made for a nervy Finish - hopefully the men that couldnt start are available for the next day out - a good tight game like that will stand to them -

Now that my disappointment has somewhat subsided I just wanted to congratulate you on a terrific victory on Sunday. Seen these lads a few times this year and they are a fine bunch. Loads of talent but I think the character they showed in the closing minutes against a very good Dublin side was excellent. They kept playing their football and held their nerve to push on for a very deserved victory. Just hope they go on now to lift the (last?) Tom Markham .

When McErlain suggested in his post match interview that Derry struggled to get a decision from the ref was he taking the proverbial P****, no doubt Derry deserved the win as they took their chances but they did score ten points from frees!

Commiserations to the Derry minors.

Don't let this result get ye down, it's not about winning minor finals it's about getting to them, ye'r boys have been in the business end of the last 3 minor championships and Damian mcerlane has a lot of raw material to work with we'l probably lose David Clifford to the Aussies.

Ps that Calum Browne is some player.

Thanks for your Gracious post Kingdom boy - Clifford is a freak of nature - height size strength - the kid has everything brilliant in the air 2 great feet a brilliant all round player - 4 minor teams in a row and that wonderkid (Kerry should do all in their power to keep him from the Aussie vultures) - the future definitely looks bright for Kerry football - Clifford is the best underage player i have ever seen

Class Derry Minor Team.
What was most impressive about the Derry v Kerry Minor game was the total lack of negativity by the Derry team and management. I think Kerry got one point from a free in the sixty minutes. I have watched other games at all levels where various players were targeted and pulled, dragged, punched, and basically mugged to prevent them for playing football. Congratulations are in order to all involved in playing football.

Sound man doirebhoy Clifford is a class act for sure and hopefully we'll keep on to him , his parents are mad GAA so that might work in our favour just like the Jason foley situation.

Although we've had great minors in the past like Barry John Walsh (tommys brother) and paddy curran and nothing became of them so we won't get too excited.

Anyway il be watching ye'r teams from now on a long with our own and il be keeping an eye out for the McWilliams twins Calum Browne and paddy quig and young mccluskey , all the best in the years a head.
