They did that for the U21 a few years ago and I thought it was grand. No shortage of confidence from Galway, on here and on their own page! Having said that, I think they will have too much for us......sure they must be going to win the All-Ireland this year..... Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 21/06/2017 09:21:51 2002934 Link 0 |
Confidence is a good thing to have when there are grounds for it. We do have grounds for it. At the same time, I, and I would think, most Galway supporters have total respect for Wexford and what they are capable of achieving. I'm expecting a close game that could go either way.

Have to say all this talk about arrogance is unfounded. Galway supporters are confident in our teams abilities and I'm sure Wexford supporters would say the same about their team grellans89 (Galway) - Posts: 257 - 21/06/2017 12:30:32 2003015 Link 1 |
I see Wexford winning

Agreed. Never understood why people get so wound up about it. If your coach or players are giving out in an overly-confident way then it only serves to motivate the other team and their supporters. But comments on an anonymous message board?! Can't exactly see the back pages doing an expose on the unbelievable arrogance and disrespectfulness of HS posters. Even if you look ahead beyond the next game, someone on here will bang on about it being disrespectful. No, it's an opinion, like any other.

I don't know where this over confidence mentality is coming from because anyone that I have been talking to is extremely wary and very respectful of Wexford. Supermacs88 (Galway) - Posts: 248 - 21/06/2017 15:54:12 2003119 Link 2 |
At least our last All Ireland win is on GAA gold they only cover the last 25 years of All Ireland hurling finals. Galways last All Ireland is featured on a programme called GAA So long ago we cant remember hurlorhurley (Wexford) - Posts: 1660 - 21/06/2017 16:23:02 2003132 Link 0 |

I didn't miss your point pal, I was talking generally about some attitudes on the subject with certain posters on the board. That's all.

Personally I am just looking forward to a good open game of hurling, the excitement in the county is palpable and people are very excited to be back in a Leinster final which we have at least a chance of winning, unlike our last ones against Kilkenny. Galway actually won an All-Ireland in the last 25 years so, eh come back to me when you actually know your hurling.
