Great, enjoyable game..the trouble is that Monaghan were predictable and down wernt. Although down tired badly they had enough belief when most underdogs would have fallen. Don't give them much of a chance against Tyrone..

Great game, congrats to Down, must be really satisfying after all the negative publicity in the winter. No county is like Down with a bit of momentum behind them as they have proved so many times.

Hopefully Monaghan can pick themselves up for the qualifiers.

On a separate note how good have the early games of the championship been, Galway Vs Mayo, Kildare Vs Meath and Down Vs Monaghan others I haven't mentioned.

I have to say well done to Down. I had a feeling early in the week that this could be a banana skin for us but today I was very confident that it was going to be a monaghan Tyrone final. Correct me if I am wrong but my basis for the confidence was that up until today Down had won one game this year.
Goes to show this rubbish about league form means nothing come championship.

Congrats Down on winning a game that had everything, a great big heart saw you over the line.

Very enjoyable match.
Down were terrific. Completely astounded me. Tackled like demons.
Monaghan were poor at the back today. Mc Carron should have scored that last freekick too.

Down fully deserved that would have been daylight robbery if we'd got a draw. The old mental failings resurfaced again for us couldn't handle the expectation as the dub poster said above and fair play to down they were good enough to profit. Very disappointing evening for Monaghan football but these days will keep happening until the players learn how to deal with the burden of expectation. Too early to talk about qualifiers but I wouldn't be confident.

Warning signs were probably there for Monaghan against Cavan.Don't think Down will trouble Tyrone in the Ulster Final.

Ulster championship back to its best Armagh could of beat down goes to show ya theirs not that much between the teams any giving day! Tyrone should still beat down and Monaghan should still be in al Ireland quarters.

Delighted Down won. Monaghan might finally stop talking themselves up as all Ireland contenders. When it came down to it today, they had no football ability to win the game even though they had the possession. I wouldn't fancy them at all in the qualifiers unless they draw winners of Carlow London match.

You went for Monaghan by 4/5 ...

....They lost ? lol"
But apart form my last statement that Monaghan would win by 4/5 points I had everything right lol. There was a lot of talk about a Tyrone v Monaghan final which could have made Monaghan complacent. I just didn't expect Down to be that good. Not sure why everyone thinks its going to be easy for Tyrone in the final, no team like Down when they get on one of these runs.

Kieran Hughes should have kicked it.

Fantastic performance from the down men, shooting, tackling, running, aggression was outstanding, game was close as ref in last 15 had a shocker giving monaghan some v soft frees. Armagh was suppose too hammer then, Monaghan was suppose to hammer them and now Tyrone will be expected to hammer then, this is a young down team who our playing with no fear maybe the future is brighter than in the mournes than people think.

When have Monaghan talked themselves up? Our goals for the last three years has been to win through to a semi.

Terrific game of football great to see all the long kick-outs and high fielding and some great scores were kicked.

Yep, spot on.

We let their only threat McManus run riot. Down didn't and they beat them.

Tyrone will hammer Down unfortunately.
