Tyrone v Donegal

Safety first from Harte with his team selection.

It is time for Matthew Donnelly and Tiernan McCann to rediscover the form they showed in 2015 and drive this team forward!

Teamsheets mean absolutely nothing over the last several years. I would expect any of the first 25 to start rather than the originally named 15. Usually it would include 2 or 3 changes before throw in.

Close game, but Donegal to squeeze out the win by 2/3 for me.

Definitely fancy Donegal by a couple in this. Only question mark is how their new lads will do in a championship game of this intensity. But from what I've seen, I think they've enough about them to edge this.

Odds favour Tyrone,
Beat Donegal in last year's decider,
Mickey Harte has won 5 Ulster and 3 All Ireland titles, Rory Gallagher has no silverware to show yet having let the last two finals slip away,
A huge ask to replace players and leaders like Durcan, McGee, Thompson, Gallagher, Kavanagh, Toye and McFadden,
Justin has a history of 'getting to know' and 'neutralising' Murphy,
The strength and toughness of Donegal's promising newcomers yet to be tested in the white heat of an Ulster semi final,
Tyrone have some very talented forwards who are edging closer to clicking as a unit.
Its going to be an interesting contest,
Donegal to win !

Last time Tyrone were written off as liberally as they are this week was against Dublin in 2008. We all know what happened that day.

Donegal for me. Can't believe their odds in the bookies. Donegal and Cork hurlers would be a nice double I'd say, the best bet you'll get from Malin head to Mizen head.

I'm not sure what angle you're trying to create here; but that's nonsense! Tyrone are the favourites with the bookies for crying out loud! Tyrone are Ulster champs. 99% of posters are talking about how tight this game will be. I do know one thing; whatever the result, Donegal won't be collapsing in that manner like Dublin did that day anyway.

They are bookies favorites. The most important people are not writing them off.

I don't think there is any predicting this match. It is so close that it will be decided by a refereeing mistake, an injury or maybe even a gust of wind. Neither team will line out as selected.

The bookies must be about the only ones that favours them. Most sports analysts are plumping for a Donegal win. I wouldn't even dare to suggest that Donegal will collapse because that will not happen but I honestly don't see Tyrone been bate our the gate either. I think that they will win this one.

Donegal aiming for 7th final in a row which would be incredible achievement. Hard one to call both sides look strong might go to second day out.

If Mickey Harte trusts his players and let's them express themselves while still maintaining the defensive framework they work too then they will win. I believe the younger players are intimidated by the current set up hence the scared shooting that takes the heart out of them.
The squad has the potiental needed. Mickey must stop being a control freak and prove he really believes in his players to win anything more!

Normally Rory Gallagher makes 2 or 3 changes to the named team but I think this might actually be the team that starts. I think Cathal McCarron will definitely start for Tyrone. Apparently it is going to be a really hot day so that will have bearning on the match.

I am hoping Donegal can do it but its going to be tight.

Both teams have alot of potential but there is no doubt that Tyrone are more down the road. Really hard game to weigh up think Tyrone by maybe a couple but think losers can still have a big say in the year ahead. For all the talk about Mayo and losers of Meath/Kildare been in the A side of the draw would fancy Tyrone or Donegal against either especially at home. Safe travels to all tomorrow and try get there early as the minor game could be a cracker. Probably the best 2 remaining minor teams in the province battling it out.
