Very mature lol. I think you will find the most supporters are hypocrites, they never see any wrong-doing by their own players, I very much doubt this is unique to Donegal. Anyway it's probably irrelevant about Justin McMahon, as another poster pointed out Cathal McCarron picked up Murphy in last year's Ulster final and did a good job, so would expect him to do so again. Last year's Ulster final was played in a very good spirit and I don't recall any incidents so hopefully this game will be played in a similar manner. The tactics are going to be very interesting. I expect Tyrone will sit tight in the first half and try to catch Donegal in the second half like last years Ulster final. What will RG do, will he go out all guns blazing or keep it tight? Ok hands up. In danger of getting very petty and childish here. What's done is done. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9073 - 14/06/2017 10:46:54 1999468 Link 0 |
Fair enough Lockjaw. Looking forward to a good game on Sunday, have a sneaking suspicion we might be tuned into Morning Ireland on Monday morning to see where we are heading next. Donegal definitely have an advantage in the free taking stakes, but I'm not a big believer in Rory Gallagher, I think he got a couple of big calls badly wrong last year. Any similar mistakes from him on Sunday will see Tyrone sneak over the line. benched (Tyrone) - Posts: 534 - 14/06/2017 11:25:18 1999504 Link 0 |
This game is getting more massive as the days go by. Winning Ulster is very important and the thought of ending up in the back door in the same section as Mayo etc so early in the season adds more pressure to this big clash. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 14/06/2017 11:27:33 1999506 Link 0 |
Exactly. It's conceivable that either team could end up drawing Mayo away in the qualifiers and be done for the summer before the end of June! A massive match on Sunday. Just got my ticket yesterday! Gonna be a long few days! I'm in the thick of marathon training these days though so my long run this week will allow me plenty of time to go over every possible scenario! Totally agree with you, I wouldn't fancy the back door at all. To be fair to Tyrone they have done really well in the back door in other years but Donegal have not. It really is a massive game for both sides. I think if either side wants to be challenging for the All-Ireland this year they would need to be making a statement and winning the game by a clear margin, at least 3-4 points.

Donegal have had reasonable success in the back door in the past. Going out at the semi final stage rather than an Ulster much more preferable and could really be the making of some of the younger players. Did Tyrone no harm in 2015, it is all about the attitude. I am not a fan of the recent culture (/excuse) that in order for Donegal to make an All Ireland semi final it has to be as Ulster champions. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2771 - 14/06/2017 12:26:57 1999540 Link 0 |
Also, losing at this semi final stage on the A side of the draw is better than losing an Ulster Final stage, as it means we would switch to the B side of the draw - and another inevitable meeting with Dublin in the Quarter Finals. Only think is, win on Sunday and you cross over to be B side of the qualifiers should you get beat next time out which looks a lot more favourable than the A side at present.

Yeah - until you have to meet Dublin in the Quarter Finals.

Ditto u guys. Monaghan are just as capable of scalping Tyrone.

Don't forget Down are still in the Ulster Championship. Monaghan haven't beaten them yet.

Agree Donegal folks getting very excited about Murphy's treatment and McMahon mightn't even start of even mark Murphy e.g. he didn't mark Murphy in last years final. Murphy is no angel either so pot and black comes to mind. So please stop whinging guys it's embarrassing!

I think if Tyrone win Sunday they will beat Monaghan. I also honestly think Donegal are a superior team but for some reason they always manage to get results. Just look back at drawn game last year, and even the replay where Donegal should have won out comfortably enough but just about held on. Same again in Ballyshannon this year. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2771 - 14/06/2017 22:15:38 1999754 Link 0 |
Genuinely haven't a clue who might win. You'd expect it to be close, everyone closed down and scores very hard to get. Be some crack if we're all wrong and one side runs away with it. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 14/06/2017 22:38:04 1999758 Link 0 |
☺ haha. You best hope Mickey has a masterplan as Donegal are far more liable to destroy Tyrone than the other way round. Donegal by 6 or more. shaggykev (Donegal) - Posts: 184 - 14/06/2017 22:38:10 1999759 Link 0 |
Hard to pick a winner here, few months back I would have reluctantly gone for Tyrone now I reluctantly go for Donegal. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8571 - 14/06/2017 22:51:45 1999765 Link 0 |

Donegal by 5. Murphy, McHugh, Ciaran Thompson and Mcbrearty to the fore. Tyrone dont have the forwards, How Lee Brennan hasnt got more game time is scandalous. shotgun (Fermanagh) - Posts: 130 - 15/06/2017 04:27:12 1999790 Link 0 |
