Players getting bans overturned

(Oldest Posts First)

I see Matthew Fitzpatrick got his ban overturned (righty in my opinion) by another high powered lawyer. It really isn't fair and makes a mockery of the whole discipline procedures. It got me thinking of ways to counteract this. Why don't the GAA/CCCC employ their own lawyer with experience in this field and make the procedures watertight. No loopholes etc to get away with clear indiscipline. I mean nearly all counties have benefitted of this loopholes and no doubt be used again this summer. also club teams are doing the exact same thing. Maybe that cant be done but surly there must be a way to enforce the rules of the game without this happening all the time.

How can you say it was rightly overturned and then say that it's unfair and shouldn't be allowed to happen?

I meant the 6 month ban. I believe he is still banned for 1 game which is correct because there is video evidence of him doing something wrong...I presume striking.
My point is the loopholes that players use to get out of bans.

Right ok gotcha.

I'd be in favour of a penalty for people bringing and losing appeals. 1 game to 3 games or something.

Yeah good call. Might be a deterrent. I believe the premiership has that rule.
I find the whole thing very tedious, appeal after appeal until you get cleared. Clubs are doing it as well
