some shocking, soft frees going to Dublin. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9696 - 27/08/2017 14:56:45 2038627 Link 0 |
This referee is typically whistle happy, getting an awful lot wrong on both sides a good game all the same jonno (Kildare) - Posts: 260 - 27/08/2017 15:02:07 2038632 Link 0 |
Derry played ALL the football and fully deserved tbe win, they have always had great footballers in the Oak. Dublin looked big and cumbersome, physical and stiff. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9696 - 27/08/2017 15:28:36 2038647 Link 1 |
Fair play to Derry, thats a decent team they have there. Thoroughly enjoyable game and deserved winners petejoeduff (Donegal) - Posts: 329 - 27/08/2017 15:48:41 2038658 Link 0 |
Jesus Ulsterman will you give it a rest, Derry got more than they're fair share of soft frees and to say Dublin were physical and stiff is utter rubbish. Derry deserved to win in what was a very close game with excellent footballers on both teams. jonno (Kildare) - Posts: 260 - 27/08/2017 15:50:06 2038659 Link 0 |
Enjoyable game and Derry were deserving winners. Great credit must go to Damian McErlain who really proving himself to be a top quality manager having now managed Derry to 3 Ulster finals winning 2 of those in 3 years and now an AI final appearance. Congrats to Tyrone on winning the U-17 title in a good day for Ulster football so far. However it was a bittersweet victory for most Donegal supporters given how the Donegal U-17 team got shafted by the minor management leaving supporters wondering what might have been. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2779 - 27/08/2017 16:00:32 2038668 Link 0 |

Yeah was a tough day at the office and a real eye opener to where Ulster is at. Tyrone were the easiest winners of an Ulster title that I can remember to only be schooled by Tyrone.

Schooled isn't the word I would have used.

Well done Derry. It was a very competitive, hard fought game lit up by the exceptional skills of two players in particular - the Dublin centre-half forward and the Derry full forward. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 27/08/2017 20:23:05 2038880 Link 0 |
Great win for Derry. The full back was immense, McCluskey I think. The McWilliams lads were excellent as well. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 27/08/2017 21:19:39 2038916 Link 0 |

With the change of minor to u/17 next year will the format be changing also? Rumour is Leinster will be two groups with the top two progressing to semi finals. It would be progressive if things were standardised as much as possible across the board and more meaningful games for everyone. lillyboy (Kildare) - Posts: 429 - 12/11/2017 13:00:49 2061794 Link 0 |
It's curious and anomalous that the same competition has different formats in the different provinces.

Connacht has made a big change anyway, from knock out to round robin with the top two reaching the final. The All Ireland series remains unchanged. Will be All Ireland quarter finals and then the All Ireland semi finals and final will on before the senior games in Croke park.
