Dtaw , extra time, not at match following it on radio. How Meath let slip a 10 point lead is beyond me.

Strange for a Tyrone fan to say that considering Tyrone won both u18 and u17 Ulster league finals today beating Derry and Donegal respectively?

That's it in a nutshell, we will reach final and probably win it. Things like today will make them better equipped to handle big leads in future.

It may well be far from over but there's definitely a lot of work to be done if you cough up a 10 point lead. You'd be furious after that if you were part of the set up. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 22/04/2017 20:43:56 1981762 Link 1 |
I think the Meath minors were just a bit fearful of Dublin to be honest. :) TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 22/04/2017 22:27:59 1981779 Link 1 |
Was fooling nobody...Tyrone must be fav's for both grades though I do think Donegal have improved from earlier in the league campaign and will have one of the best minors in the country in Peader Mogan leading them. But all in all I don't think Donegal are as strong as they were the last 3 years but will still be competitive.

I am not sure Donegal are as strong this year as in the last 3 years. Based on the league Tyrone are leading the way in Ulster.

Ah jasus lad...... Meath threw it away! No penalty at all. He just jumped on the ground! Meath 10 pts up couldnt miss. They just didnt turn up 2nd half. Strange JayP (Dublin) - Posts: 1772 - 22/04/2017 22:55:05 1981787 Link 1 |
I was in O'Connor Park today for the meeting of Westmeath and Offaly. Pretty one sided game in truth. Westmeath enjoyed plenty of possession but were pretty clueless with it. The tactic seemed to be give the ball to the biggest guy and see how far he could go with it. That or a hand passing game with little running off the shoulder making it a pointless tactic hence the paltry 1-4 final scoreline. Offaly on the other hand were far more cohesive in possession and had a decent full forward line which gave plenty of options even with all the bodies back something Westmeath did not have. I really don't know much about Leinster football at the grade but given its Offaly's 2nd routine win they will be a side to keep an eye on in Leinster anyways. Given the finalists get to a AI quarter final this must give Offaly a decent shot of achieving this. As for Westmeath I am afraid it will in all probability be a short campaign. I found little positives in their performance today apart from a fantastic point from a sideline ball in the 2nd half off the left boot of one of their players. Second time I have come away from a Westmeath underage match this year and felt this way. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2781 - 22/04/2017 23:01:58 1981789 Link 0 |
That's the problem. Straight there. " We will win it". You've no divine right to win anything. AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 22/04/2017 23:32:44 1981793 Link 4 |
