Mickey Harte deserves great credit for that, but now a fresh face on the sideline could just be the answer. Tyrone Co. Board are maybe feeling the same, hence a one year extension for the manager.
I also think they do not have enough forward talent presently, to make the breakthrough.
I am not familiar enough with the Ulster scene to comment on a possible new Tyrone manager. Maybe you might care to put forward your ideas. Until then,get over yourself.
I will continue to comment on matters on this forum, if you do not like that fine.
I" yea but your saying get rid of Harte and then that's it. What do Tyrone do then? there is a lot of this talk of Harte needs to go etc yet nobody has come.forward with a serious plan B, yourself included.
You also contradict yourself a bit by saying Tyrone dont have the forwards, would that not mean that Harte is doing a fantastic job, Ulster champions, division one football, a draw with Dublin, all that without great forwards, sounds like a damn good job to me.
get over myself? lol for what, putting a legit question to you? one that was answered with sarcasm. if you cant take it dont dish it out. What's the point in saying Harte needs to go if you then admit your not familiar enough with the Ulster scene. Your not making much sense in all this.

It is time for a new Tyrone manager.
16 years is a long time for the county to be managed be any 1 manager, and there are others who are worth a go. Peter Canavan, Fergal Logan, Mattie Mc Gleenan, Paddy Tally. What credentials? Well Fergal Logan for example has just won an All Ireland U21 title which is the same credentials Mickey had when he got a go at the Senior position.
For the last few years Tyrone seem to be lacking a plan for frees, a target man at full forward, a plan B to score a goal when a few points down with a few minutes left. Time to give someone else a go and see what they can do.

I can't stand this attitude that Mickey cannot be replaced. Everyone appreciates what he has done but the time has definitely come to move on. 15 years is too long and especially as we have achieved so little over this past 7-9 years.
There is natural progression with most county managers which helps to ensure that the next generation are bought through. This is that the minor management if successful move on to U21 and then to senior. This happened for Mickey when he took charge at the end of 2002 and the honorable thing to do. It means that the players have a natural affiliation with the management and that no player becomes irreplaceable.
We have a successful U21 management team of Fergal, Peter and Brian and now is the time to use them at senior level.
I have lost count over the past decade of the amount of really talented players that were given either no chance or half a chance and then just dumped. The reason was not that they were not capable or talented but purely because they did not fit the Mickey Harte type player that he thought was required after the golden generation retired.
