Michael Meehan's return to the championship arena generated one of the biggest cheers during Galway's impressive dismantling of Donegal's All-Ireland SFC dreams this evening.
The talented forward's career has been blighted by a catalogue of injuries and his last senior championship appearance in the maroon and white jersey was the 2013 All-Ireland qualifier loss to Cork at Croke Park.
The Caltra clubman received a great reception from the Tribesmen's supporters when he entered the Markievicz Park field as a 68th minute replacement for Damien Comer.
Great to see Mikey Meehan back in championship action with @Galway_GAA. Phenomenal footballer on his day. #GAA

Two Meehan brothers over to congratulate him there - everyone knows how hard he worked, everyone in galway loves him. Brilliant

TweetMichael Meehan coming on for Galway for first piece of championship action since that thundering goal in Croke Park against Cork in 2014.
