Peadar Healy has announced that his days as Cork senior football manager are over.

After this evening's 2-20 to 0-27 All-Ireland SFC extra-time qualifier defeat to Mayo in the Gaelic Grounds, Healy informed the media that he is bringing the curtain down on his two years at the helm.

He was appointed for a two-year term in succession to Brian Cuthbert back in October 2015 having served as a selector with Conor Counihan when the Rebels claimed All-Ireland honours in 2010.

The Ballyvourney-native endured a difficult time in his first year with relegation from Division 1 compounded by a Munster semi-final defeat to Tipperary.

The teams fortunes didn't improve much in his second year and the Rebels suffered a heavy defeat to arch rivals Kerry in the Munster final before this evening's exit.
