Leinster U-17: Archer points the way for Dublin

July 19, 2017

Dublin's Ciarán Archer

Corner forward Ciaran Archer contributed a massive 1-9 as Dublin got the better of Laois in last night's Leinster U-17 FC semi-final in O'Moore Park.

The team in sky blue prevailed on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-14 and now turn their attention to a final clash with Meath which is to be played this Saturday at a venue to be confirmed.

Archer - who featured as a substitute in last Sunday's convincing Leinster MFC final victory over Louth - found the target with 1-5 in the opening period.

His 25th minute goal cancelled out Niall Dunne's penalty effort for the O'Moore County and the visitors took a 1-11 to 1-5 advantage into the break.

To their credit, Laois outscored their opponents by nine points to five after the break but late scores from John Foley and Archer edged the young Dubs over the line with their noses in front.
