Pete McGrath won't comment publicly until Monday on the reasons behind his shock decision to step down as Fermanagh manager.

The Rostrevor man was ratified for a fifth season at the helm last week, only to perform a u-turn yesterday amid speculation that player unrest forced him out.

"A number of media outlets have been contacting me and I've told them all the same thing - that I'll not be speaking publically about the reasons for my resignation until Monday," he told the Irish News.

"I'll certainly be going into quite a bit of detail on those reasons on Monday."

McGrath leaves the Erne County after a disappointing year in which they were relegated from Division 2 of the Allianz League before suffering nine-point defeats to Monaghan and Armagh in the championship.
