Michael Darragh Macauley and Bernard Brogan took the Sam Maguire to the resting place of the tragic Harris brothers yesterday.
In a lovely gesture, the Dublin stars visited the grave of Alan and Stephen Harris at Glasnevin Cemetery, with Macauley having promised their sister Lucy following the deaths in June that he would bring Sam along if Dublin managed to win the All-Ireland.
The brothers were avid Dublin supporters and Alan was well-known for his 'Bluebird Dublin van', which was regularly spotted at GAA grounds around the country. They died died after being overcome by toxic fumes in a sewage tank they were working on in Portmarnock.
A minute's applause in memory of the Harris brothers and the Berkeley victims was held at Croke Park during Dublin's Leinster SFC semi-final win over Kildare.
