As everyone else will be out doing the last of the Christmas shopping, the footballers of Loughmore-Castliney and Cahir will meet to decide the destination of the Tipperary SFC silverware tomorrow.

Cahir opened their campaign seven months ago on May 7th and, speaking to The Irish Independent, manager Tom McGlinchey, revealed his frustration at the drawn out nature of the competition.

"Things are complicated because of the dual thing but it does seem ridiculous, and, above all, so frustrating, for us as a management and the players," the newly appointed Waterford football boss said.

"We couldn't tell them what we were doing next because we genuinely didn't know, they were getting frustrated with us and, even from the point of trying to organise holidays, it was just impossible for them.

"There has to be a better way to organise fixtures.

"I know there is a big review of fixtures taking place and certainly the three-week gap between the drawn All-Ireland final and replay has to go."
