Galway and Cork remain in the hunt for Sam Maguire honours after the weekend's qualifier action but it's back to the drawing board for both Tipperary and Sligo.

1. Aidan Devaney (Sligo)

The Yeats County netminder has kept five clean sheets in as many championship outings this year but it proved to be to no avail against Cork.

2. Finian Hanley (Galway)

The Galway defensive set-up will come under scrutiny after conceding 4-12 against Tipperary but full-back Hanley limited Barry Grogan to a solitary point from play.

3. James Kilcullen (Sligo)

Kilcullen and his defensive colleagues had their hands full trying to contain the Rebel County's attacking unit but he can't be faulted for effort.

4. Joss Moore (Galway)

Tipperary would have looked to Conor Sweeney to keep the scoreboard ticking over but the Premier scoring machine was well marshalled by Moore.

5. Colin O'Riordan (Tipperary)

The Tipperary youngster enhanced his burgeoning reputation with yet another top drawer display and he finished as his side's top scorer from play with 1-2.

6. Michael Shields (Cork)

The experienced Shields and his Rebel County team-mates will face a much sterner challenge against Mayo next time out but it was a case of job done against Sligo on Saturday.

7. Charlie Harrison (Sligo)

The former All-Star took the fight to Cork, raiding forward to raise a white flag, but his team faced an uphill battle throughout.

8. Fiontain O Curraoin (Galway)

O Curraoin and his midfield partner Tom Flynn both netted goals against the Premier County.

9. Tom Flynn (Galway)

The Galway midfield enjoyed the better of the exchanges against their Tipperary opponents, Steven O'Brien and George Hannigan.

10. Paul Kerrigan (Cork)

The Nemo Rangers clubman's pace put the Sligo defence on a back footing and he was the stand-out performer in the first game at O'Connor Park.

11. Shane Walsh (Galway)

The centre-forward's delicate touch which led to his 29th minute point was worth the admission price alone in Tullamore.

12. Peter Acheson (Tipperary)

The half-forward was one of the few of the Premier County players to do themselves justice against Galway.

13. Colm O'Neill (Cork)

A return of 0-10 (six points from play) provided the perfect illustration of O'Neill's accuracy off both feet.

14. Paul Conroy (Galway)

Galway captain Conroy was a constant thorn in the side of the Tipperary defence and found the target with three points.

15. Danny Cummins (Galway)

The diminutive corner-forward helped himself to 1-1 and manager Alan Muholland will be hoping for more of the same against Kerry in the quarter-final.
