Barry Moran could yet feature for Mayo this year after returning from an Achilles injury at the weekend.
The big midfielder made his first appearance in nearly nine months for Castlebar Mitchels in a 2-18 to 0-7 Division 1A victory over Davitts on Saturday evening. According to the Western People, Moran and fellow county panellist Donie Newcombe played 45 minutes of the league encounter.
It was Moran's first taste of action since last November's Connacht club semi-final against Corofin. While Saturday's All-Ireland SFC Round 4A qualifier against Cork is likely to come too soon for him, Moran could be in manager Stephen Rochford's plans for a potential All-Ireland SFC quarter-final appearance at the end of the month.
